this is a DS game cartridge with an SD card slot. you download ROMs and transfer them to the SD card using a USB connector (also contains an SD card slot). depending on the size of the storage of the SD card, you can put on any number of games (e.g., 1MB is about... 25 games?) and play it on your handheld DS.

so what are your thoughts on this? keep in mind that downloading ROMs is generally looked down upon, but i'm curious what people think of this technology.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was pulled before I got done posting this.

Regardless, I love my R4 ^_^

yes - by "looked down upon" i essentially meant not legal. i have to say it's an interesting concept, and i know people that own them and are very happy with them. they've still gone out and bought the games that they've really enjoyed, however, even if they previously downloaded them for the R4.

I have a feeling the admins will abduct us one night and take us through a dark alley-way for talking about this but anyway i have a TT-DS Its like R4 but its caled TT-DS and it comes with AR Built in to it. You dont wanna see my HDD...

I have one. It is legal, right now. But if you get it before it does become illegal (Not gonna happen though) you're allowed it.

It's not illegal, but the roms are. You can just buy it for the DS homebrew and MP3 playing if you want, lol.

Galen true. but then it depends if you download the musc illgely :p
Yeah, but then again, everyone with a computer downloads music illegally. It's just too easy :p
once i hit college, i stopped downloading illegally - it became tough when college kids were the targets. but i've since stuck with my itunes-purchasing habits.

i'm not saying i *do* have an R4, but i will say that i imagined it would be more like $80... :gyroidconfused:

Well $20 for every DS game, homebrew, MP3 playing, and portable video playing sounds good to me :p

no, roms are illegal. User gen games (Guitar Fun, etc.) are not, they're just spin off user gen. But roms like Super Mario 64 rom are illegally ripped from the game and onto a rom.
