It's finally beginning!

From December 1st to January 1st to help the countdown to New Horizons, I will be opening up this thread to give me and others who want to join in an opportunity to revisit one of the older staples of the series - Wild World. You can either start a fresh new town (which I recommend, but you don't have too), or just continue on from your town when you last visited.

Each day, if possible, or whenever you can, please post in here to talk about what you did that day in character, as if you are talking to Brewster over a hot beverage - I used to love these sorts of forums.

You can join in whenever you want, just post whenever - and feel free to add multiple posts in a day if need be!

This will be an opportunity to enjoy one of the older games and also for me personally to have one last month of Animal Crossing before I have a full two month break before New Horizons comes out. Please, join me on this adventure! I will add my first post of the month soon for today.

Originally, I had intended for this to be a 31-day nostalgic trip back to Wild World, my first Animal Crossing game that I remember I first owned when I was around 5-years-old. It was to be a run-up to the release of New Horizons, and I wanted to get as many people involved as possible, documenting their 31-day experience starting a new town to help make the wait a bit easier.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find anyone who was willing to join in, which was a little sad, so I decided to not go through with it. That is, until now! I loaded up my 3DS on Friday night and decided to start a new town from fresh, and I've been having so much fun with it! It's easy to balance with New Horizons as well - you only really need to spend between 20-30 minutes per day to complete the daily chores, and then it's up to you whether you want to continue playing!

I've got a few days worth of entries recorded that I'll post later on, and then from then on I will be posting my experiences and how things have changed in my town every day (if I can!), as if I am unwinding with Brewster in The Roost after a relaxing day in my town.

I would love for people to join in! Feel free to either continue with a town that you abandoned years ago, or if you're still playing, you can join in, and of course in my eyes the preferred option is that you start fresh so that you can document your experiences here from a fresh perspective. Hopefully people do join in and we can get this thread bustling!

By the way, my town is called Bluemoon and I have Oranges as my Native Fruit.

After reading this I really want to revisit my old town! My native fruit was apples! Actually when I was a kid I thought everyone had apples as their default fruit and I was so shocked when I learned years later this was not true! lol.

Please join in! It'd be great to have loads of people documenting their own experiences here - shame to see this section of the forum so dead!

Okay, it's been 4 days now since I have restarted and I feel like my town is finally starting to get somewhere - so I'll summarise these first few days, and from now on each post will be daily! If I need too, I will make multiple posts depending on how much I get done in a day.

Thank you, Brewster. I'll have a Black Coffee, please.
Here's your 200 bells.

It's been four days now, and I'm starting to get into the swing of things here. The first three villagers I met were Curt, Goldie and Drake. They are all really nice, Goldie in particular. Curt tends to fall out with everybody - no matter what you say to him, you'll probably wind him up. Since then, Samson, Yuka, Pippy and Frobert have moved in - and the town is starting to develop a buzz!

On Saturday was the Fishing Tourney - and I felt doomed right from the start. Drake had caught a 46.2 inch Sea Bass, and I spent at least 2 hours trying to best it to no avail. Seriously though, when have you ever heard of a villager doing that well in the Fishing Tournament? I was sure I would probably win it, but I guess I was left with egg on my face. That night I saw K.K Slider perform for the first time here at the café, and he was amazing! The first song I have for my collection is K.K. Bossa.

I've spent several days now making sure to talk to Sable at the Tailors along with all of my other villagers, doing chores and trying to build a friendly relationship with them. Sable is finally starting to open up to me - but it feels like she's holding back a big story from me still, which I will hopefully hear one day. My Museum is coming along fairly well, I have around 6 fossils donated there so far and a handful of bugs and fish; it's still early days! Unfortunately, I also chanced a Calm Painting from Crazy Redd's tent which turned out to be a fake - just my luck.

I was surprised to get a notice on Sunday that Nook's Cranny would be expanding. I didn't expect that to happen so fast, but I'm really glad the shop is proving so popular! I spent most of Sunday doing small errands for villagers. Curt is obsessed with fossils, so I helped him find a fossil. I can't say he seemed that all that grateful, though.

Finally, today I had Nook 'N' Go open! The store is fantastic, and I managed to get a Robo-TV and a Newton's Cradle for my home, which I have just paid off the first loan for. That means that tomorrow I'll finally have a bigger room to store all of my furniture in. Curt was in a bad mood with me again today, although this time it was my fault somewhat. He asked me what mood I thought he was in, and he got insulted when I suggested that he was angry. Curt told me to shut up and go away, but I'm pretty sure he just proved my point by doing that.

Anyway, that's all for my first four days in Bluemoon! It's been great fun, so far. I'll make sure to visit you again tomorrow and let you know what I've been getting up to. I'll make a point of visiting the café more often now that I've got settled here in Bluemoon.

Hey! I'll have a House Blend with a dash of milk and no sugar, thanks.

Not too much happening so far today. I've got a new Penguin villager moving in, though! Her name is Friga. Interestingly, she apparently also likes the House Blend coffee here at The Roost. She's still unpacking though, so I haven't had much time to interact with her yet. I've done some more chores for the villagers today, such as delivering a letter to Samson from Goldie. She seems to always want to deliver something to Samson. Pippy also challenged my to find a Horse Mackerel before her, which I have still yet to do.

Oh! I also finished collecting the fossil parts for the Ankylosaurus, which means that it is now fully assembled in the Museum! Apparently, the Ankylosaurus was one of the few dinosaurs that managed to weather the effects of the K/T extinction event better than most dinosaurs, because of its near-impenetrable armour as well as its cold-blooded metabolism. The scattered population of the Ankylosaurus slowly died out over time, and became extinct around 65 million years ago.

I took a trip to the Able Sisters again, and Sable recognised my name for the first time! Mable says that she rarely ever remembers a customer's name. I forgot to mention that my house upgrade was completed today, which meant that I could finally start to decorate with all of the furniture items I've been buying from Nook's store. (I'll try and remember to add some pictures soon.) Unfortunately, I'm back in debt again and this time I owe 120,000. I know it'll be worth it though, for even more extra space! Thankfully, there were some new tools at Nook 'N' Go today, including an Axe and a Slingshot - I'm still missing a Watering Can, which is pretty urgent! Hopefully he has that in stock tomorrow. Nook was also selling some great furniture items which I purchased, including a Spaceman Sam - that will go well with my Flying Saucer and Robo-TV I have!

Just after heading back outside with my Slingshot, there was a present flying across the sky which I shot down, and it turns out that it was a TV with a VCR!

That's about it for today. The Flea Market is coming up on Saturday, which I am excited about! Although, I'm not sure I actually want to get rid of any of my furniture right now.. I've only just started collecting furniture! Anyway, see you next time!

I'll have a Java, please. Thank you.

Today was quite a productive day. First of all I was surprised to find upon greeting all of the villagers that Samson was already packed-up and ready to move out, tomorrow. I've only known him for six days! Oh well, on the positive side it means that there'll be one less muscles obsessed villager in town. I donated several more fossils and fish to the Museum, including a clownfish and a loach. Blathers didn't seem to want to keep hold of them himself for too long.

Nook 'N' Go was finally selling a Watering Can! It's only been six days since I moved in... my flowers were teetering on the edge of death, so it couldn't have come at a better time. I spent quite a bit of time watering my flowers and planting new ones, including a new Cedar Sapling. I saw Goldie's house was surrounded by flowers and it was showing me up quite a bit, so I'm making an extra effort to catch up.

Curt asked me to find him a fossil - in a few minutes I was back with one of my duplicates from the Museum (I didn't tell him that, though) - it was a Left Quetzal Wing. He has already put it in his house. Pippy once again challenged me to catch a Horse Mackerel, and it took me the best part of 20 minutes to be able to find one. Despite that, I still managed to catch one before her!

Lastly, I visited the Able Sisters shop and purchased some new clothing. Just a Red Checkerboard t-shirt. Sable seemed to be feeling down, lamenting the loss of an extra pair of claws. Mable managed to cheer her up straight away. I'm looking forward to the start of the new month tomorrow, hopefully I'll be able to catch lots of different fish and bugs. See you soon!

Black Tea today, please, Brewster. I didn't get much sleep last night.

I had a really late night, and I was awake until about 2AM this morning, so hopefully I can still manage to form a coherent sentence despite my rather zombified state. Enough about that, anyway.

First of all, I was surprised to see Samson still at home with his belongings packed! I had thought that he would've gone by this morning, but this evening when I checked in he was still there. I guess he wanted an extra night in Bluemoon to say his final goodbyes. I spotted Goldie near her garden, and she told me that she likes looking at her garden at night-time. Once again she had me deliver some mail to another villager, this time it was Friga. It seems like Goldie is the only one sending any letters in this town.. which begs the question, why haven't I gotten a letter yet?

Later, I popped by Curt's house (or should I say fossil exhibit...), and he told me that he likes to display his fossils 'to scare away the annoyingly happy people in this town.' Mood. He was also hoping that I had a Triceratops Tail on hand. I'm hoping he'll give me at least a few more days to try and find one because I'm not feeling that lucky.

Pippy once again challenged me to a fishing competition - to see who could catch a Black Bass in the fastest time. Uh... I still haven't got there yet. Whenever I need to catch a relatively common fish, the oceans and the rivers seem to dry up. Typical. I managed to catch a Rainbow Trout and a Carp, which are less common, but still not a Black Bass.

To finish off, I just did some chores which needed to be done, such as watering the flowers around town and also digging up whatever fossils I could find. I got two today, with one being a duplicate. I sold the duplicate Amber to Nook, and purchased a Red Guitar from the store, as well as some more flowers and a sapling to plant. After doing that, I went and got quite a lot of new clothes from the Able Sisters, and spoke to Sable. She was begging Mable to give her a back massage after work. It looks like it succeeded.

I suppose that's about all for this evening. Tomorrow should be more eventful with Samson moving out and the Flea Market beginning. Hopefully I'll be in a less zombified state, as well. Thanks!

I'll have a Blue Mountain with no milk, please.

Unfortunately, I slept in again this morning and had almost no energy again - I don't feel as bad as I did yesterday, though.
After leaving the house, I was approached by Lyle. He sold me some accident insurance for 3,000 bells (not that I had any say in the matter), and asked me when I wanted Crazy Redd to appear. My preferred answer would be 'never' after how he managed to scam me last time, but begrudgingly I chose Tuesday for his appearance.

The Flea Market was in full-swing, and I didn't really want to sell any of my furniture yet, since I've only just started collecting; instead, I decided to see what my other villagers were selling. I visited Curt's house and got a Roman Helmet from him, which looks amazing! It was only 800 bells, too. I still haven't finished looking at what everyone is selling.

As usual, I watered the flowers, planted some new tulips and cosmos, and dug up my daily fossils to donate to the Museum. Today, I managed to find the Bell Rock, and got around 8,000 bells from it! Most of my villagers were outside today, strangely enough. I guess that means they had nothing to sell. Frobert played a game of Rock Paper Scissors with me. Pippy was telling me about how much she loves fishing, again. Thankfully, this time she didn't challenge me to find a fish for her. Maybe she realises that it's a waste of time because I'm hopeless.

I spotted a Message in a Bottle on the Beach whilst collecting shells - it was just some gibberish about dressing up and dancing under the stars... not really my kind of thing. Somehow, I managed to make Friga absolutely furious. She asked me what I thought her style of clothing was, and I answered 'clown chic' (she's snooty.. chic sounds about right, doesn't it?) Obviously not, apparently. She was so insulted that she told me to leave her alone, and that I'm as stuffy as her grandma's basement.

That's all for now!

I've actually been playing an old file I started a couple months before New Leaf was released. I never made it very far, so I've just been poking around on it a little each day. Town name is Termina, character is Anju.

Anyway, so far today I've sold my red turnip from last week and bought a new one for this week. I also gave Dora, who has literally been sick all week, medicine. Hopefully it's for the last time, it seemed like she was doing much better today.

Thanks so much for contributing! I've been having a lot of fun so far - although there's a lot less features in this game, it feels really cosy and immersive, mainly because of how much more depth the villagers have in Wild World, and it's really interesting to get to know more about the special characters, too. I love your town and character name, by the way; I hope Dora gets better soon. I've yet to take part in the Stalk Market, since I've only got about 25,000 bells so far.

I'll have the Special Blend, for a change. Thank you.

Another bad night's sleep meant that it was a lazy Sunday for me in Bluemoon, today. I decided not to buy any Turnips just yet, because I haven't got much in my savings, and what I do have is needed to pay off my loan and get some furniture for my small house. I did strike gold and found the Bell Rock again, which gave me another 8,000 Bells!

As usual, I watered the flowers around the village again (I swear Goldie's garden is getting even more flowers added to it... I'm starting to think she's doing it on purpose...), and I was lucky enough to find all 3 daily fossils - all of them being new additions to the Museum! Blathers was really pleased. I went and spoke to Sable after buying a red-checkered t-shirt, and she told me a story about how she knitted Mable a pair of gloves in the freezing cold - but they were far too big for Mable's hands!

Pippy told me that Pelly and Phyllis from the Post Office are both chasing after the same guy. It sounds like there's some trouble brewing behind the scenes here in Bluemoon. Boone is moving into my town - he seems quite grumpy, but I'm sure he'll warm up to me overtime. Drake asked me to deliver a letter to Goldie (notice how it's always back and forth between those two?) Goldie actually showed me the letter that he sent to her - she must have quite a lot of trust in me! Unfortunately, I'd be breaking that trust if I disclosed what was in the letter.

Finally, the Bulletin Board informed me that this Saturday is La-Di-Day! Sounds both very weird and very interesting. I'm looking forward to it on Saturday - as well as catching up with you and K.K. Slider here at The Roost, of course! Catch you later.

Haha thank you! I like yours as well. I tend to go back to GC every year, but my GameCube's internal battery died in October, and I'm too lazy to change it manually every time I play or set up my Wii just yet, so I decided to take a look at WW. There are lots of things I've always loved about WW, though, so it's been fun returning to those aspects. I'll try to post here every once in awhile!

I look forward to seeing your posts! Hopefully, this thread will soon have a lot more people wanting to start a fresh experience. It's really easy to manage both Wild World and New Horizons as well, which I'm sure is what a lot of people are worrying about. Wild World only really requires about 20-30 minutes of your day if you just want to water your flowers and check in with your neighbours, dig the fossils etc. When I'm feeling tired, that's sometimes all I do in a day!

I'll have an Americano, please, Brewster.

Starting off on a good note, I woke up feeling a lot better today, and I was excited to go and see what's happening in Bluemoon. This morning I noticed a letter from Crazy Redd, reminding me of the password for his weekly Tuesday visit. He's very welcome as long as he doesn't make me look stupid, again! Who knows, even if it is fake, I might be able to convince Tom Nook to buy it. What he doesn't know can't hurt him, right? I guess in some ways I'm just as bad as Redd.

Surprisingly, I was able to get quite a few new bugs and fish donated to the Museum today. I'm usually not very good at finding the less common bugs and fish, but today just seemed to be my lucky day! Shows what you can do when you've got some energy... or, at least, what you can do on a caffeine rush.

Sable told me quite a sad story about how her parents died when Mable was still really young, so she had to grow up really quickly and look after Mable herself. It's great that she trusts me enough to be able to tell me these things. I'm interested to know what else she has to say.
I gave Yuka her medicine again today, and she seemed brighter than she was yesterday. Hopefully by tomorrow she'll be feeling better!

Curt gave me a personality test about himself, which I got right, so he gave me a blue-trim wall!

That's all for today - thanks!

(Okay I’m gonna try to use your format this time haha.)

Hello, I’ll take one black coffee, please.

Today the first thing I did was visit Dora, who unfortunately is still sick. I got her some more medicine, and she doesn’t seem to be doing as bad as she had earlier in the week, so I’m hoping she’ll finally kick it by tomorrow.

I dug up all the fossils in town and donated them to Blathers at the museum! Alfonso dared me to catch a ladybug faster than he could, but unfortunately I don’t have many flowers in my town, so I wasn’t able to find any. Monique told me that she used to want to be a pop star, but she lacked a certain something. When I asked her what it was, she decided to give me a playroom wall after dissing Mathilda. I made sure to water my new red turnip as well.

Thanks for contributing. Sounds like you had a busy day! It's funny how we both have sick villagers at the moment, haha... and we're both not the best at finding the bugs/fish our villagers ask for. :sneaky:

I'll have a Medium Latté with Chocolate sprinkes, please.

I had a bit of a lazy-day again today, staying inside for most of the day and relaxing. I felt like I needed a good rest. As well as that, it's been raining all day which makes the outside look quite uninviting compared to my cosy home. Yesterday, I forgot to mention that I sent many of the residents a letter with a present attached - they've all helped me settle in well.. even Curt! I sent one to Goldie, Curt, Friga and Pippy. They all responded with gifts... funnily enough, they all sent me wallpaper. Not entirely sure whether that was a co-ordinated effort or just a coincidence.

Mable told me a personal tale about a zit that she has on her face that makes her self-conscious. That's why she is constantly looking down, even in older family photos. I would never have guessed it. They both clearly miss their parents.

Drake had me go on a goose-chase to deliver a letter to Boone, our newest resident. Frobert was asking for a change of clothes... well, some 'sweat-proof' clothes, but I just gave him a spare T-shirt. It'll do the job. Friga told me a story about this weird boy that she was dating. I think Friga is finally starting to warm up to me.

I can't believe that this happened today, but as I was walking around I noticed Curt signalling my attention. I spoke to him and he gave me his picture! Curt said that I'm his closest friend, and that he won't forget about me. I didn't think I'd be hearing that after only a few weeks from the grumpiest villager in the village. I gave Yuka her medicine, and then spoke to Goldie who said that Drake was stomping around the beach the other day in a furious mood. I wonder what that was all about.

I watered the plants, donated the few fossils I was able to find today, and planted some more greenery around Bluemoon. It feels like it's starting to shape up, now. Oh! I got some new furniture items to put in storage, and some weights which I can send to one of my active residents like Frobert or Boone - and just as I was leaving, Tom Nook told me that he would be closed tomorrow for expansion! Again! It honestly feels like no time since he closed for expansion before. Our community really is starting to bustle!

Lastly, as it is Tuesday, Redd was in town so I took another chance and got a Common Painting from him. This time, it was the genuine article, so Blathers was happy to accept it - and I didn't have to try and pass it off to Tom Nook. Well, that's all for today. I got quite a bit done in a short amount of time this evening. Catch you later!

Haha yeah. I'd forgotten how long illnesses can last in WW so it's been pretty crazy to see poor Dora sick for so long. And it looks like we both have a Frobert!! That's fun.

Today I'd like a chai latte, please.

The first thing I did was check on Dora, since she lives so close to my house. I was afraid she was still sick when I saw that she was in, but she was feeling much better. She gave me a ranch wall as thanks for giving her medicine. She then dared me to find a ladybug before she could, and I actually did! This time she gave me a white boom box. I also found out that Roscoe moved out overnight. I wonder who's going to move in in his place.

When I made the rounds of my villagers, Monique told me she likes pink furniture. Unfortunately, neither I nor the shops have any, so I can't help her out right now. I watered my red turnip again and bought some flowers from Tom Nook's shops to try to start breeding some flowers. Tomorrow I think I'm going to start working toward making the town more pleasing to the villagers by asking Pelly what they think.

It's good that Dora is feeling better - I think Yuka should be better by now. Oh, and you finally completed a bug challenge! :)
Cool that we both have Frobert, too.

Restarting my town because l didn't like how things were going

That makes sense - I'd say you have much less to lose especially in Wild World from restarting, compared to the newer entries. It's always good to start fresh if it isn't working out.

I'll have the Pigeon Blend, if you don't mind! Thank you!

With Tom Nook closed for expansion today, as exciting as that is, it does mean I'm going to have trouble raking up some more Bells. The best I could do for today was find the Bell rock, and collect some sea shells to sell for when Nook opens up again tomorrow.

Sable was reminiscing about her mother, telling me about how she stole Mabel's marbles in a fit of rage. It doesn't seem like Mabel remembers that happening.

I saw a UFO flying past while I was on the Beach, but irritatingly I didn't manage to figure out what to do before it had already flown past.
Drake asked me to deliver a letter to Frobert because we are close friends, so I followed through with that for him. Boone asked me to deliver a package to Pippy. Although just before that I saw Boone and Pippy have a conversation which led to Boone bursting into tears - he probably won't be ordering anymore packages anytime soon for her.

Yuka is still not better, and there's nothing I can do about it because the store is closed. That sucks.

I was really shocked and saddened to see that Goldie was packed up and thinking of moving away! I'm so glad I checked in on her today. She said that she's having some sort of crises. I think I've convinced her to stay though, because we get along so well!

Anyway, to finish off I donated my daily fossils and watered the rest of the flowers. Time to call it a night. Thanks!

I'll have the House Blend, please.

Drake asked to come over at 14:50, so I gladly invited him over. I don't think my house has changed all that much recently, though. It's not big enough!

I watered all of the flowers around town today, and found the Bell rock again. Nookway has officially opened, and it looks amazing! I don't think I'll ever be short of furniture with this huge store in Bluemoon. I got quite a few items today, including an Azalea bonsai and a bottled ship. Tom Nook had lots of new plants and saplings in store today, which I planted around town to help improve the greenery!

Frobert was asking for a new top for working-out, so I gave him my BB shirt. It looks good on him, actually. Although when I gave it to him he just said 'whatever', so I'm not sure he's that impressed.

Goldie hasn't moved away, which I'm really pleased about! Her new hobby is fossil-collecting, same as Curt. Goldie asked me to find her a fossil, which I did, and Curt asked me for a Triceratops fossil. I gave Goldie a T-rex Skull. Pippy challenged me to catch a rarer fish than her, but I wasn't able too.

Katrina visited for the first time, and read out my fortune. The key words were 'trouble', 'second-chance', and 'treatment'... Great. I wish I hadn't bothered. I finished off the day by donating my daily fossils to Blathers, as well as the Dace I caught to try and complete Pippy's challenge - but obviously, it wasn't rare enough for her. Catch you later!

I'll have the Special Blend, please.

Today wasn't an especially busy day - I got most things done this evening, I would say. I watered all of my flowers and got some new ones from Nookway, and planted them around town, along with a Cedar Sapling. Goldie was asking me for a fossil, so I gave her one of the spare duplicate fossils I dug up today.

Pippy challenged me once again to catch the rarest fish, but this time I actually won! I caught a Rainbow Trout, whilst Pippy only caught a Zebra Turkeyfish. Hah!

Curt gave me a warning about an insurance-scam that is going on... something involving a survey... I fear that I've already fallen foul of such a scam. Yuka is still ill, so I gave her some more medicine today. She says that she is over the worst of it. Friga is obsessed with collecting white furniture, but unfortunately I didn't have any to give her, and Tom Nook wasn't selling any either. Maybe tomorrow!

Tomorrow is La-Di-Day - I'm looking forward to it! Bye!
