so like the title says im thinking about buying sun or moon. not really ultra, i know people says u should if u have not played normal, but on amazon normal is cheaper and i dont have a lot at the moment, anyways i had a question.

i have played many of the other ones, including x, and i love them. the question is, i have heard some people say they dont like sun and moon because it seems as if its for a newbie to pokemon where it explains too much and explins stuff that normal pokemon players should already know. they said its not like normal pokemon. im just wondering if thats true. i know its an odd question and im going to buy it regardless cause i really want to play, but i was just wondering your opinion about it, is it different than normal pokemon games, explain too much?

also besides one being day and one being night, is there any real difference between the two? i was thinking about buying sun because there were two pokemon that are on sun that i loved before and want to get, but just wondering about this.

also, which starter pokemon have u found is best?

The only differences are that there?s no gyms, just island trials and grand trials that you go through as you explore the islands. There?s also a LOT of cutscenes, which I think is what they were referring to, but the game is definitely not for newbies (that would be X and Y, lmao). Some of the battles can be pretty difficult if you aren?t prepared for them, especially the grand trials and other bosses. The day and night thing is another difference, but you just pick the game based on what you prefer. Also, I cannot really say which starter is best. They all have their strengths and weaknesses, so you just have to pick the one you like. :)

I really enjoyed Ultra Moon, but I definitely encourage getting an Ultra title over the normal ones. I found the extra features to be crucial to the post-game experience.

The only real difference between Sun and Moon are the exclusive Pokemon, the legendary, and one of the early bosses.

The best starter is the one you like the look of most :p. They're all great in battles.

ok, thanks guys for the info. i cant wait to buy it! ill get the money this weekend so hopefully i can get it then! honestly still think ill get sun though.

I personally didn't like any of the gen 7 games that much, but I thought Ultra was probably the worst Pokemon game I've ever played. The "twist" was horrible and the new features couldn't make up for how disappointed I was, to be honest. Though, I'm not discouraging you from getting the originals. For starter Pokemon, I've personally played through with all 3, and while they all have their strengths and weaknesses, I must warn you, I found all of them to be rather fragile.

Another difference between Sun and Moon that no one has mentioned before is that in Sun, the day goes on normally, but in Moon, for exmaple, if it's 2pm, it'll be 2am in the game. Personally, I bought Sun because I liked the Pokemon featured in that one. However, it really didn't matter for me because my cousin bought Moon, and we would trade any Pokemon we didn't have.

And BTW considering the strenghts and weaknesses of each one, their final evolutions and their Z-Moves, I'd consider Rowlet as your best choice, but it all depends on the game-style you prefer. Direct and destructive game-style is Litten , Slow for Popplio, and tricky for Rowlet.
