I've had 60 bucks in store credit I've been hanging on to, and I still have AC and SSBM, as well as memory cards and controllers. I'd get the system and Pikmin and Pikmin 2.

Think that's enough cash? Or should I just buy a Wii sometime (I still think the Wii won't last, all it's best titles are made by Nintendo.)

Yeah, just save up some dough for a Wii. From my experience, GCNs are a little... well, not durable. I've had three Gamecubes fail on me; the disk reader sucks.

Why wouldn't the Wii last if its best games are by Nintendo? :0

Do you carry them with you wherever you go?

 really?

I have had much better luck with the cube than any other system of its generation.

course the other one I had was a ps2... don't know if the xbox got errors often or not although the 360 certainly seems to more often than others.

Nope. Always kept them in a virtually dust-free place.

my GCN still works. I keep it in my room in case people are watching a movie or something on the Projector (where the Wii is set up)

I don't use it much, but it still works.

Oh really? My friend has had his dropped on a concrete floor twice, without any damage.

My Gamecube is still running exceptionally, too. But I'd save up for a Wii.

Yeah, same thing pretty much happened to me, except i dropped it on hardwood and now a big piece of purple casing is falling off. And I also had it stored and pretty much had to take a wet cloth to get all the dust and stuff off... Still works fine amazingly.

But back on topic, I suggest you get a Wii like many others have previously said.

Funny, because I'd had the same one since 2001 and never had a problem with it. I'd say yours failed due to constant overuse.

And I'm not going to save my money for a Wii, just to play GCN titles. I do not like the gimmicky controls, lack of decent online play, and lack of real third party support. And it's technically inferior....

Also, I didn't realize what a bunch of rich little white kids we have here.

Why would a console fail due to "overuse"? lol I'd say I used my N64 more, which I had since launch (1996, I believe?) and it still works perfectly.

Rich...? Yeah, I work for my money, dude.

The N64 doesn't have a disk drive... and my SNES still works fine.

And I directed that more toward The Gremp, seeing as he has a projector for a television, and one in his room.

And Justin's yearly trips to Hawaii.

Collectivist/Prejudice statements are not welcomed here Mino.

And it's clear you're arguing for the sake of arguing. If you didn't like the Wii you had no reason to ask whether you should buy it. Not to mention that some of your arguments are ridiculous... but that doesn't really matter.

Collectivist? Whoa there, don't try to use big words too hard, you might use them incorrectly. Oh wait, you just did.

Anyways, I was asking if I had enough money to buy a GCN, everyone else then said to get a Wii, I said I didn't want one for those reasons, I really just want to play Pikmin. And then, someone started a discussion on GameCube's not being durable, which I had never had a problem with. I also noted that I had not realized until now how much money some of these people's parents have. I'm lower middle class. R U?

I still fail to see how I'm being prejudiced or collectivist (REALLY don't see that one) nor how my arguments are ridiculous. Is it because I don't want a Wii?
