I see some people with 20k and then a couple with more money than I shove up my...

Well, how'd you get that much?

I make signatures in my GFX shop for free. Donations go a long way as you can tell.

I can't speak for how all of those people got so much $$$, but I've been on here long enough to see some of what happened.

Some people were "first in time", as it were. In other words, they joined when the TBT to in-game bells conversion was low, like 100,000 to 100 TBT, or 400,000 to 100 TBT. Also, villager trading back in 2013, if you had a tier one you would get anywhere between 1500 to 2000 TBT for one. And people who had shops charged like 400 TBT for one rare unorderable item. So, if you hustled back in those days, you can get that much easy.

How do people who recently joined rack up that much? It's hard to say. I think many of them have art shops, and if you have the talent and you are sought after, you can get like a few thousand TBT for one art piece.

For me, I just post a lot. But I don't have 20k TBT or anything insane. For those people, I assume they sell items or art. Art is probably the quickest method I've seen.

I got too obsessed with Pokeball collectible when it came out in '13. I managed to grab one during most restock and ended up with eight. Sold some last year, and to my surprise they fetched a pretty big amount of bells ^^;

selling and buying i guess. i had more but wasted some on pokemon and other things.

I joined this year and have amassed a good amount of TBT. Getting TBT is simple. Contribute to discussions on these forums and be a producer, not a consumer. Too many new users are eager to throw around their TBT around to get stuff and have instant gratification. I find it more rewarding to get stuff myself whenever I can and help other people get stuff, and only use my TBT to get stuff that I absolutely cannot get myself.

selling and buying as well
i waited for some collectibles to rise up in value then sell them lol
i had a cycling town before and sold tier 1-2 villagers for some time
i have tons of IGB that i dont rlly use in the game so i just sell them for TBT to anyone who needs some
i also used to have a sig shop where i made signatures for free, so donations were a part of it
there's also giveaways and as far as i know Javocado made the most TBT giveaways around here so we gotta thank him :D

lastly, simply posting lots around the forum can get you a handful of $$$
most TBT i ever had was 56k, i never passed that lol

Well, I have over 3,000 TBT Bells, and I think that's just because I post a lot, occasionally sell things, and don't spend too much on collectibles.
