On this posting date, Friday, February 28, 2020, I note there are 21 days (three weeks) until the release of ?Animal Crossing: New Horizons? on Nintendo Switch.
I look forward to it.
I have to admit: I am a bit intimidated.
I am so used to ?New Leaf,? including its mayoral concept with the game?s overall structure and limitations, that getting a much more open structure in design with ?New Horizons? feels like uncharted territory.
Watching the videos of being able to alter one?s island blows me away.
And that?s the thing?we can discuss what we imagine we?ll do. What map to select. Where to place one?s house. What starting villagers will one receive. Which other villagers does one want. How many can we have? Where to place their houses.
I am imagining some of the things I may do. I may reserve particular areas for future shops?so they neighbor each other. A zoning control on my part. (I have been doing that for some time. And I loved ?Welcome amiibo,? the update in 2016, for giving me that freedom.) That I may want to make some sense of where things go.
Oh, and the house! I like the interior already. The wallpaper looks real. The flooring looks real. The doors like real. The windows look real. The furniture looks real.
I like that we can relocate. I hope one can relocate a villager?s house?just in case improvement is needed.
I like that we can construct paths. (I am already liking the brick paths.)
Oh, what fruit will I get? My favorite perfect fruit is the apple. But, on an island, I may find it more appropriate for it to be the orange. Then again?I may try to control what I select, for a map, so that I end up with the apple.
Will I still play ?New Leaf??
I don?t know. I am guessing I will. I know I don?t want to get too far ahead of myself.
I will play ?New Horizons.?
Now, where to buy ?New Horizons?? Oh, and should I buy a second Nintendo Switch console?and a second retail copy of ?New Horizons??
I?ll figure it out.
I look forward to this.
21 days.
Three weeks.
Countdown continues until Friday, March 20, 2020.
