Time Travel Question

I haven't played New Leaf in a while. If I time travel back to the day I last played nothing will have changed, right? It will still count as the same day?

Yep. I do this all the time because I can't always play every day thanks to work and other things going on IRL, but I don't want to miss any days in game. There's no downsides.

If you buy turnips, however, you should make sure to start at a time AFTER your last save so they won't spoil. The game save doesn't tell you when you last played, so you have to just remember or write it down or something.
