TTing simply messes up AC. AC is a game that should not be rushed. TTing speeds up the game.(So does Wifi, which is why I like AC:GC best)

If you wanna play the game to its fullest, you shouldn't time travel, just let things move on its own, but if you want things done fast, time travel.

If you do want to play AC to it's fullest, you should TT, if you want to play it to the longest, don't TT, but I still play WW and would still play GC (but some damn jerk stole it) and still haven't beaten them, I wonder if it's possible.

When you start up AC, Rover talks to you.
Go to the bottom (fourth) option and click.
Click the "change date and time"
It's fairly straightforward from there,

I personally don't use Time Traveling because, well...basically I see no need for it =P. I mean, if you need money just get a money tree[not without getting the golden shovel, of course]. I've never tried it myself though, and I suppose it's just the player's decision. :veryhappy:
