Hey, all! So, for those who have known me for a while, you'll know that the original Animal Crossing for the Gamecube is my favorite game in the series and probably one of my top 5 in general. It has its weird quirks, but that's what I love about it...and I love getting bullied by my villagers, haha. So, I've had this idea for a while now, but I'd like to start collecting the e-Reader cards released for the game, as they have that Gamecube charm to them and feature characters who will most likely never be reintroduced (Aziz...). Characters like Aziz, the obscure villagers that only like 2 people remember, as well as the characters who have had name changes over the course of the series (Bliss becoming Caroline, Sally's original name being Hazel, etc.) are my priority.

My question to those who may collect these, or older cards in general: where should I look? Of course, eBay. I'm looking there. If only I had a spare $3,000, I could buy the whole set. But I don't. eBay has some decent ones for me to start out, but do you guys know where I could hunt for the pretty obscure ones? I was thinking Yahoo! Japan Auctions or something, but I quickly realized that it wouldn't help because I'd like to collect the English language cards. Like I said, I'm not experienced in card collecting and I doubt people have Animal Crossing e-Reader cards just floating around. Any help is appreciated!

Do you have any trading card stores near you? There were a few back where I grew up. They had pretty obscure cards for cheap. I know they typically have Pokémon cards and sports cards, but you may have luck finding other types of cards. This was a very long time ago, though, so I’m not sure if trading card stores are as common as they once were. If you are up for going in person, I would recommend searching for some of these stores.

That sounds like solid advice! I know there's at least one near me, so I'll definitely go and look over Fall Break. I might check a few thrift shops as well, since you never know what you'll find in there.
