Unofficial Guide for Travelers and Hosts
Please comment with more suggestions
Here are some things I've learned hosting and traveling:
Set your switch to not go to sleep for at least 30 minutes.
Host: If you are hosting and need to walk away or go to the bathroom, if your switch goes to sleep it boots everyone.
Guests: If your switch goes to sleep it interrupts everyone else so they have to leave.
Download the Nintendo Switch Ap on your Smartphone
It gives you the ability to voice chat! (I still havn't found anyone using this but would like to try and test and will update if I do.)
It gives you a much easier to use keyboard to type faster and communicate with people on your island.
Its Free and just a bonus Nintendo provides to help make the game better.
If you don't have a steady connection - fix that first before going to people's larger group session
A single person with poor internet can crash the whole group.
Ask before taking things that are on the ground
Some people leave stuff around for quick access. Often times people are happy to give away fruit and maybe other materials - but it is still polite to ask first.
If you are visiting someone, bring some of your local fruit.
A nice courtesy to thank someone for hosting. Just drop it by their house or the airport.
Any other recommendations posted below that seem solid I'll add to the main body of this post.
