hiii hello hi, i'm kinnie!
i vaguely knew of this place and have lurked here and there, but now i've finally made an account since this place seemed super fun and friendly!

i've played animal crossing casually throughout my life, new leaf being my first! (i always felt i discovered the series too late, I WISH I PLAYED THE ORIGINAL!!! i want my villagers to be mean to me LOL) i fell out of it for a couple years until very recently thanks to the power of adhd and autism combined

ever since i first started to play, its always been a silly dream of mine to have an all-cat city named litterbox! i just ordered everyone's amiibo cards today and i'm so excited to make it a reality!!! i've been reading their wikis nonstop for like a week, making little headcanons and writing up relationships and stories of how they're all connected and finally thought "yea ok it's time to stop and actually play the game" FVDJFH i'm tempted to do small comics of story snippets or stuff that happens on my island, but we'll see! i first gotta learn how to navigate this place o7

Hi there, and welcome to the forums. No worries about discovering the series late. A lot of fans only discovered it during the lockdown, likely causing the sudden spike in popularity.

I wish you luck on your island. I personally have an island consisting of eight dogs and two wolves, all following the same color-scheme. I’m very happy with my lineup of villagers.

it's a huge tie between punchy and bob, but if i had to pick i think it'd be punchy!!! he was one of my first villagers i ever had so there's some sentiment with it, but i also really love his design! i'm a sucker for sleepy-eyed characters

ohh, i hadn't considered that, that's very true!! though that was a difficult time and still is, it's nice to hear others were in a similar situation and found comfort in it with ac! thank you for the reassurance and welcome

oh my gosh??? that's SO cool and sounds so fun, dog villagers definitely have some of the more fun designs in them! what villagers do you have if i can ask! do you have a favorite among them, or a town theme that goes with the color-scheme or villagers?

so glad to hear i'm not the only one HAHA i feel like new leaf is definitely a great place to start as an introduction to the series, though! i've seen others say it generally has more content than other versions, though i wouldn't know for sure

I do not have an island theme, but my villagers do all follow an orange-brown color scheme. My favorite villager is Mac, though I love all of these villagers.

The only (main, not spinoffs) ones I haven’t played are City Folk and GameCube, but our of the two of them, I’d be interested in GameCube since City Folk seems a lot more like a high quality port of Wild World and I already have that so I don’t see the point.

I'm glad you're liking it here! I agree, these forums are full of nice people. Oh, I've never met Punchy before! He seems sweet from what I looked up. Me and Bob have beef though, he squashed my sister's plot of flowers when he moved in lol. My favourites are Rocket, Melba, and Tex! I currently have Rocket and Melba, but Tex is a favourite from my first town.

Omg the all-cat city idea is so cool! The name is really original and I think it matches so well. I´m sure you will make it a reality! Also I think the idea of making small comics is so cool omg! My town is named Blossom! I like it but I wish I had your creativity!

I know how you feel! I started later than you with new Horizons! I fell in love with the cranky villagers, but I heard that they were actually mean in the older games!! My youngest brother introduced me to Resetti. With the addition of auto save, poor Resetti doesn't really have a job anymore. That makes me sad!
