Total # of DIYs

Hey everybody, the Animal Crossing app I use to track my catalog and my accumulated diy recipes and such seems to be inaccurate when it comes to the total number of DIY recipes. It says there's over 1,800 total recipes and then goes on to say that I only have about 800 total, but when I go to the main catalog section of unlearned recipes it's only displaying around 200 left and they are almost entirely cooking recipes. Is it a bug with the app? Or are there just that few recipes? Does anyone have a running total of every DIY in the game?

Sounds like that app is double counting the DIYs (maybe it's counting both the DIYs and the actual item it creates?), since looking at catalogue.ac's stats page, there's 922 in total (781 being non-food/drink, 141 being food and drink).
