Fourleaf Clover

So, I woke up around 10am today, and went straight to the town hall to see if I could start working on my development permit. I spoke to Isabelle, and she explained that I needed to get to 100% before she could send off the application. She listed a few ways in which I could earn points including donating to the museum, changing the town flag and town tune, posting on the bulletin board and recycling stuff at Re-Tail.
I designed a flag which is a striped background with a fourleaf clover on it. It perfectly represents Fourleaf, and it's beautiful Mayor, me, of course! Then I changed the town tune and posted a quick note on the bulletin board. Afterwards, I went to check out the new resident who had moved in. Turns out she's a purple kangaroo named Sylvia, and she essentially told me to 'go away' when I introduced myself. I don't like how she looks, and I especially don't like her attitude towards me. It's downright rude!
I went to see Bob and Pinky to check if they had met Sylvia yet, and they hadn't. Pinky said there was a rumour going around about me being a 'freshman mayor'. Well, there's only one person who would spread something like that around, and that's Gigi. To be honest, I am really starting to dislike her as well. He big pink puffy lips are so... off-putting. They make me feel sick. I decided to check on Knox and Goose, who aren't exactly friendly, but are at least easy to talk to. Knox has a quick temper, and I don't want to get on the wrong side of him! Goose is obsessed with sports and working out, which isn't something I'm particularly interested in, so I'm not sure whether we'll get along. At least I have Bob and Pinky, who are both lovely!
I went to see Timmy in Nookling Junction and bought some stationary to write letters to Knox, Goose, Bob and Pinky. I don't really want to write to Sylvia after this morning. And Gigi's a total gossip. Ugh. I stopped by the Post Office and gave Pelly the letters, before going to Able Sisters and talking to Sable. Then I went to see Tom at Nook's Homes and it turns out that Lyle, a greasy-looking weasel has got his own counter there too. He's from the Happy home Academy. They evaluate homes, and then give you a score. My score was 2,000-and-something points, but I should have around 10,000 points for a house my size, according to Lyle.
I spent the rest of the morning fishing, fossil hunting and catching bugs. I donated everything I could to the museum, and sold the rest to Reese. I ended up with around 40,000 Bells. I went to the Post Office and repaid my 39,800 Bell loan to Tom Nook. I then went back into his store and he seemed really happy that I paid it off. He must be psychic, 'cause he knew I still wasn't satisfied! I'm having my house expanded tomorrow, for the apparently low fee of 98,000 Bells! More room for furniture!
I went to check on my town development permit after lunch, and I only had 5% left to get. I did some errands for Pinky, one of which was to deliver a present to Gigi. The present was an opulent rug. Gigi basically threw it aside and didn't even ask me to thank Pinky. She just handed me a No. 67 shirt... I don't want her rubbish clothing! She obviously has awful fashion sense... ugh. I told Pinky what had happened and she seemed really upset, but thanked me for doing the errand. I comforted her before going to speak to Bob, who cheered me up.

I'm pretty excited, I guess when I get it I will really become Mayor. It's going to be nice to be able to start work on Fourleaf. I want to keep it nice and natural, maybe add some benches, a fountain, a little coffee shop... I just want to make sure it doesn't become too commercial. I want to make sure it stays a beautiful paradise, with bugs and fish galore!
I celebrated getting the permit by visiting my friend Kealan, who is the Mayor of K Town. Kealan gave me an orange pansy, along with a load of other goodies! I bought some plants from his Re-Tail and some stuff from Able Sisters and T&T Mart, before donating to his Dream Suite PWP and going on an island tour. It was great fun!
