town on a possible corrupted memory card

Hello! I recently got back into playing the gamecube animal crossing. I have an old memory card i was going to use to make a new town. But it doesn't recognize that i have a memory card in when i boot up the game. I checked to see what was on it in the gamecube settings and theres actually a town on it already. Is the memory card corrupted? If so would it be a bad idea to move the town that is on it to another memory card? Or would it corrupt the other one as well?

Does the save data read correctly in the other card port?
Might be worth checking if you have not already.

I did that and it registered that I had a memory card in and K.K. said the town data was corrupted, so I deleted it. Thanks for the help!
Tho I have a new question. Do you think if I made a new town on the same memory card that town will get corrupt as well?

Personally I think I would play it safe and try a different card.
I am also sorry about you losing your data as well; it is always hard knowing you have lost the work put into it. Hopefully it does not stop you from making more memories in the future!

Yeah, I probably will stick with a different memory card lol
I probably used some screwy cheat code on that town when i was younger and that's why it got corrupt
The data lost is no big deal, I don't remember the town really at all. I still have my childhood towns, so it's all good!

As someone with a GC, it's common for the memory cards to corrupt because of time, unfortunately. :c I've been looking into getting a new one since I want to get back into consistently playing ACGC as well.

Thankfully memory cards aren't too expensive for the GC; hope you're able to get it sorted ASAP. :3
