So I know in New Leaf, if you wanted to "preview" your town to see if anyone was moving in or see who is in the campsite, you could make a new villager, roam around, and either reset or go through the motions to save. Anyone know if this still works in New Horizons? If not, I might test it.
I couldn't find a villager from the islands and don't want another villager I don't like to move into the plot I set down. I didn't know if I made another profile on my switch, could I make a new character to preview my town before saving? If so, I don't know if things would change if I reset before saving the new character's existence or stay as it was originally.
Right, but I was thinking that with a new character we may not be able to save until we find a spot to set up a tent -- just like in New Leaf. That way we could wipe saves if necessary to preview what the day will be like.
I might try it tomorrow morning when I get up and see what happens. I spent so many nook miles going on tours when I told myself I'd save up for permits, so I had to stop myself. I can't really make more tonight as the short-term goals can't really be achieved anymore for me. Hopefully it'll work and I can find someone good
It didn't work, it auto-saves right before you can go place your house. However, while flying in, I was able to see my campsite and whether or not anyone was there. That was just due to where I placed it so it also wouldn't work for everyone and I'm not even sure if resetting would change it. So yeah, doesn't look like this works
