TP Gets An... 8.8? :|

Take a look.

That's the last time I ever trust Gamespot. They ALWAYS underrate games (they gave Excite Truck a 6.8 while IGN gave it what, an 8?)

And take a look at this -

A 96% average ratio. That is a mind-boggling score, but Gamespot just had to bring it down... Wonderful.

Just ventin' here, of course.

Edit - Here's what Gamespot had to say about TP...

The Good: Compelling characters and story; outstanding world and puzzle design; longer than most action adventure games; terrific graphics, from an artistic perspective.
The Bad: Wii-specific elements feel tacked on; graphics and sound sometimes go from nostalgic to dated.
 
Well...it is stil a very good score, and the reasons it was bogged down was the sound, and that I guess they found it a little too similar of the other 3d zelda games...which I can understand, still a great game though, and I don't think it is fair to judge it based on it being a little similar.
 
.....in related news the gamespot forums are hilarious right now, so many people calling the reviewer a fat sack of crap, with cheeto stained greasy fingers, and commenting on how he should die, and didn't deserve to review TP.....quite hilarious.

I know what you mean.. everyone was pretty dissapointed with Gamespot..

Oh well.. guess we can't trust them anymore.. they're insane..

Only 8.8!?


:eek: Oh my word, they only rated it as 'great', stating "The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess contains the same, excellent, time-tested gameplay you've come to expect"!? This is an outrage!

You know how pleased I was when I saw Medieval 2: Total War, a game I'd find infinitely more entertaining than LoZ: TP, scored 8.8? Well, I certainly wasn't pissed off as some people are getting over this, let me say that!

And besides. It's just one guy's opinion. Why make such a big deal out of it? And heck, if he finds parts of the game at fault, then that's his opinion, and he's free to voice it. You can't honestly say that he should just rate it 9+ because everybody else is.

Oh, the irony! Everybody's opening criticising both Gamespot and the author of the review for not saying the same as everybody else, and then you announce this? Hilarious.

But you're right. You gotta find your own opinions, when you all play the game. Which none of you actually have, I'd like to point out. You might agree with him, you never know.
 
None of us have an opinion? You're wrong, Katz, I've been playing TP for a good 3 or 4 hours now, and it is indeed completely awesome... Totally better than an 8.8.

But I agree that it's just the score of ONE reviewer, and basically only one's own opinion matters.

Not very. I just got past Ordon Village and have just started the Forest Temple.
