Trees in AC Switch

I haven't really seen anyone discuss the trees in the series. I feel like there isn't enough variation. There are the pine trees, then regular trees. All fruit trees even look the same as the regular plain trees. I would like a lot more tree model variations. Different heights, blooms, trunks, etc. A tree I'd love to see are tall willow trees! Here is a link with lots of examples of gorgeous and unique trees that would make our towns look beautiful and would add such variety in the way we can landscape!

Such a great idea ! They add bushes on ACNL, maybe we'll see new landscaping stuff on Switch

Willow trees would be nice.

My fear about trees is the way they are depicted in smash Bros (on the island arena) and the animal crossing racetrack in Mario kart 8. The trees are really ugly and oddly shaped. I hope they plan on making the regular trees nicer looking and not sticking with that design.

Well, they've added a birch tree design in PC so that's something. Maybe they can incorporate new tree designs if they add something like different "biomes" where different plants can grow.

Maybe even just willows, which could grow exclusively on that awkward one tile next to the lakes/rivers so we could have some variance as to what can be planted there.

(Could also be cool having something like reeds or cattails there, too!)

I would love birch trees, Ginko trees, mangroves and cactus! I would also like trees to take longer to grow than 4 days (say a week) and to keep growing until 3 times current height!

Pocket Camp has introduced Birch trees too, and also more types of fruit, so I'm really hoping that the new game introduces more tree varieties!

Good idea! New Leaf added new kinds of fruit, and we have plenty of fruit types now IMO, but more variety in trees would really be nice. Maybe they could even bring back the gold trees from the GameCube game.

I believe that the birch tree's will make the cut for the Switch game.. they look pretty nice in PC.

I think it would be great if they added some trees that were added in Pocket Camp such as the Camellia tree (without the snow), Weeping Sakura Tree (prolly bloom Sakura's at the beginning of April), or even add a type of tree thats normal for all year but in October it loses its leaves and becomes one of the Spooky trees from Muffy's cookie.

I saw a pretty interesting photo of an ACNL hack a while ago where they replaced the tree textures to resemble a Birch tree. They look a bit too big probably, but this was just a simple texture swap. Definitely made me want new tree types!

Also, some weird looking bushes, but that's besides the point.

I really hope they add new tree types! Willows and birches would be great, but I really want to be able to plant a tree (willows!) or shrub right next to the river. If willows could be planted right there, maybe the leaves could trail in the water a little bit...I’d also LOVE to be able to plant something right in the water. Lily pads and cattails, perhaps? And while I’m dreaming, what if there were ferns that could be picked up and moved like flowers, but ferny and green? (Can you tell I mostly play for the landscaping?)

Like someone mentioned, the old design for the normal trees in ACNL were really nice (from 2011, not 2010). I was disappointed when they went back to the original. Hopefully they can bring those designs back.
