Turnip Question

Hi folks! I am interested in completing the various Nook Miles challenges and getting all the stamps on those cards. At least one of the challenges is to do with making profit from selling turnips. I am trying to play the game without time travelling or using exploits (although I don't care about trading or playing with anyone that does), and I work Sundays so I am never able to see Daisy Mae and buy her turnips!!! My shift is exactly the same as hers

So my question is, is it possible to get turnips from other players and complete the challenges that way? The one time I was able to buy turnips from Daisy I had to sell them at a loss, and it didn't activate the challenge card in my Nookphone, so that indicates only profit counts... so does buying/receiving turnips from other players count as profit when you sell them?

you can visit other people's islands and buy directly from their daisy mae (could either be a time traveler or just someone in a different timezone) and then sell them and that definitely counts, but I'm not sure about if you were to just be given turnips from somebody that you didn't buy yourself

Ooh nice, getting them direct from Daisy on another island is perfect idea! I've no idea why that didn't occur to me, lol. My timezone is GMT, i'm in the UK.
