Apparently turnips are the best money maker. I however payedoff my house in AC:WW, and AC:GC without the use of turnips, but im sure they would make it easier.

But i dont understand them at all!! Like theres so much to know, when to buy, when to sell, when to plant, when they rot.

Can you lead me through every single step id need to take? Please and thankyou.

It depends on how much of a profit you'll want to hold out for. For example, buying 30 turnips for 104 bell a piece. You'll want to check with Nook every day (and at other players' towns if possible) and see if you can net a buyout from Nook that's at LEAST 25 percent more than that amount (in this case, around 120 bell). On extreme rare occasions, you may be able to get double, triple or even QUADRUPLE the amount, but you need to check many players towns and your own every day for better chances. If you don't get a buyout at least 25 percent by saturday, it's best to sell them, even if you're losing money; Otherwise, you won't get anything back at all.

To figure out the 25 percent mark on your turnips, recall the price amount you bought them for, then get a caculator. Times that amount by 125 (or 150 if you wanna go 50 percent more, 175 for 75 percent more, 200 for 100, etc). Remove the last two zeros and you have the percentage amount.

...

... and yes, I know this basically was a tutorial on math percentage, but it helps to know in this game :p

Seifer pretty much cleared it up

buy low sell high, hold out longer for bigger profit margins, etc.

not too long though, they expire in a week.

Can you store the turnips in other places? After a while don't they go bad? Is it possible to grow turnips (like plant one in a whole)?

Turnips are basically this game's version of "stocks" in the Stock Market. So because of that, it's counted as an item. If I recall correctly, if you leave it outside, it rots out within a day (though you get ants on it, which you can net for the museum). Burying them may not do any harm, but there's a chance people may shovel them out (since they're counted as an item; not as a fruit or tree).

I believe it's possible to put them in your house without them rotting out, but it counts against your Happy Room Academy score. Putting them on a table may or may not be possible. I can't remember myself (I just recall some DS glitch that related to this).

Best thing to do if it isn't possible to put in your house, even if it takes up a spot, is to just keep it in your inventory.

And yes, as zephent said, they rot by the next sunday. Which is why it's important to sell no matter what on Saturday.

Can you put them in storage units in your house? Like I noticed on 1 video on youtube, a neighbor had a locker that he could put items in...would this work for turnips?

Not at all, unfortunatly. I tried to store the turnips in my own locker; Wouldn't let me. Same goes for storing them in letters as well.

In Wild World you could put turnips on tables to prevent them from rotting, is this still true for City Folk? Doubt it's been tested yet, but if anyone finds out, this could be very useful information.

Reds are different. You buy them (just one pack, sadly), and plant them. Water them every day for one week and sell it for around 16,000 bells when you sell it. They're okay for starting out, as they only cost 1,000, but in the course of 1 week I could easily make 80-100,000 bells without fruit or anything (as long as there is fish, furniture, and items around).

wanna know something? the magic rocks can deposit up to like 10,000 bells depending on how many times you hit them before they turn back to normal and they reset every day, do this every day for aweek ad thats 70k right there and if you fish and bug hunt and sell them you could get up to 400,000 bells in a month

Best way to to it is to shovel holes around you so you don't have to worry about walking back up to the Magic Rock. You just keep tapping A (or C).

yup but i just dig 2 holes cuz thats all you need :llama:

I have a ? on the red turnips....When you purchase them on sunday, (i believe) can you instantly buy the red turnips? Or can you only buy the original turnips and must "unlock" the red?

You should be able to buy the red turnips without needing to buy the whites. There's only one red turnip available per week, however, so the other three players in your town can't get one.
