I remember in WW you could have more conversations with Brewster and get more backstory, as well as the Able sisters. I talk to them every day in CF but it's always the same things - straight to business.
I was also wondering about all the "non-neighbor" animals. The Able Sisters, Pelly & Phyllis, Tortimer, Nook, Brewster, Blathers and the girl owl whose name I can't remember.... They work in the town and you would think they would live there, but they don't have houses and you can't find them or talk to them when they're not at work [except sometimes in the cafe]. Where are these characters supposed to live? I mean, I guess Brewster, the girl owl and Blathers all live in the museum because it's open 24/7 and they are always there, but that kind of sucks for them. Why don't the other characters have houses? It'd be nice to talk to the Able sisters out and about or at least not so busy at work.
So do any of the earlier AC games have an excuse or backstory as to why they don't have regular homes or anything like that? It just kind of bothers me as it seems like a glaring issue conflicting with the point of the game. You can befriend them but you can't really see them outside of work. If you really befriend them, shouldn't you be able to visit them in a social setting like all the other animals in town? I don't like that it's restricted to a customer/clerk relationship. Wouldn't it be nice to see them outside or play hide and seek with them? They are part of the town but they seem to be excluded from all the fun activities.
