Yesterday, I put a plot down to invite Chief through an Amiibo card. After talking with him, he requested I invite him back today which I was ready to do. Before I invited him back I checked on the plot, what the hell do I see but a sold sign with another villager. WTH!!! I don’t visit anyone’s island nor does anyone visit me. I did not go on any mystery tours yesterday so where did this uninvited villager come from, a balloon!?

This exact thing happened to me too! I invited Alfonso with Amiibo, set down a plot where I wanted his house... all good and perfect right.. next day, the plot's sold to some nasty crumb of a villager that I didn't even invite. Grr.

I feel you, although to be fair Animal Crossing wouldn't be Animal Crossing without that frustating level of randomness :)

It typically takes 3 days to invite a villager so the best thing to do is put the plot down on the third day so this thing doesnt happen.

It is frustrating though. But its Animal Crossing so you gotta expect this type of madness sometimes.

I think the safest best is to place the plot on the 3rd day.

True! Still it’s annoying as hell to waste up to three days convincing a villager to move in only to have a another take its place? What’s the point of having the ability to invite villagers if we are going to be undermined by our choices.

If you put a plot down on the third day then this wouldn't happen. I think its dumb how you have to wait 3 days in the first place but this isnt the games fault.

Thank You Krissi2197 for this tip. I thought you were supposed to put the plot down then go through the three day drama of convincing the villager to move in.

Yeah they dont make it super clear. I had to learn this from the boards before I invited Chief to my town as well.

The good news is is I think if you put another plot down and ask him to move in he will! Itll just be in two days rather than tomorrow.

Thanks again Krissi2197 I will try putting the plot down today. The only thing I have to loose is another unwanted villager. ;)

This happened to me as well the first time I used amibo invite. So frustrating! Just wait for the third day as others have mentioned. But I can also confirm that you can wait to put down the plot until after they say they are moving in. Since no plot is pre-set up, the villager will tell you that they can't move in after all since there is no space. But if you set up a plot then go back to the villager, they will offer to check with Nook again to see if a space has become available after all. The move in will then proceed with no problems.

My first uninvited villager just pinged me to move out a couple days after moving in. I didn't ignore her or anything, she just decided to. Maybe yours will do the same :)

The plots would be so much better if they stayed empty the next day but o well this is animal crossing
