Hi guys! Before the weekend a girl from a facebook group had asked me to hold a villager, a very very very VERY popular villager for her while she transferred her to another town.

I agreed and moved the villager into my town.

Now, the villager is in boxes. I told her about 10 hours ago the villager was in boxes, expecting her to come. Her friend has yet to show up, I've had multiple different excuses and I really don't know what to do. What's the right thing to do? Sell the villager? Wait it out? I need to go to bed to go to work tomorrow and the villager will be sent to the void by that time.

I've had this villager all weekend. I need her gone, she's in boxes right now. Seriously this feels so unfair... :(

Last time I hold a villager.

I don't know what you should do. I've never held a villager before. But maybe you should wait? Or if you sold the villager to someone else, maybe the girl could get them back? Sorry, I've never had to do this before, so I don't know.

I know that some people get villagers from others when you connect over wifi with them. Like your recently voided villager will move into their town when they visit you. I'm not 100% sure if it works though because I've never tried it, but I read a thread in which someone did that to get a villager from someone else. Hope it all works out for you :)

This is true.
If you void the villager, that person still has a chance to get them from you because your last voided villager goes to the next town you visit with open space. Unless they streetpass someone before you see them, they might not get the villager that way.

If you sell the villager, the person you are holding for will definitely not get that villager back. At least not from you.

You could also probably just keep TTing hours back in the same day to keep the next day from coming and the villager can't move. It's all up to you.

If you are comfortable time traveling back some time to hold it longer, then go for it. But you don't have to do anything you are uncomfortable with so it'll be their loss for not being responsive and if it voids out.

this.
just don't go behind 6 am, since the town resets at 6 am

If she isn't there to get the villager, then it's her fault if she doesn't get it. I would give the villager to someone who can pick them up right away. Although you could always sell them, it would be wonderfully nice of you to give them away for free on a site like http://acnladopt.tumblr.com/ (Getting bells for a villager is a bit of an uncomfortable idea to me. Reducing the worth of villagers to nothing more than a number of bells. I know they're really just bits of coding, but they're bits of coding people get quite attached to.)

I personally wouldn't do this unless it was a person I trade with a lot. And if I did, I would give them the benefit of the doubt and TT back to help them. After all, there's a few potential issues going on.

1) Timezones. I'm personally in Asia, even though a large percentage of these forums are either in North America or Europe. 10 hours is NOTHING depending on time zone difference. The person could be asleep or something.

2) The person could have school, work, or something else going on in their life. Give them a little bit more time.

It's up to you though. If the person is ignoring your attempts to contact them and you get tired of waiting, that is their fault. For something like holding a villager, once the villager is in boxes, that puts the person holding the villager's game on hold. That isn't fair to do for a super long time.

Theres nothing you can do! If she doesn't come for the villager it's hardly your fault? you should either sell her or just simply let her go to one of your friends. You shouldn't feel like its your fault.

^This. I'm in Europe and I have a villager moving out. Someone is interested in them, but it's difficult to find a time when we can both be on-line. I've written down the day the villager is moving and I haven't played since. I will TT back to that day when the villager can be picked up.

^And this too. I don't mind waiting a bit, but I'm not going to continue doing so either. So it's really your choice. If you can, give them some more time. But if you can't, then it's not your fault.

Thanks guys for all your input but I had waited from 8 a.m to 11p.m. :( it was really unfair.

I told her she had to get someone to come pick up the villager. I have a full time job and had work the next day. It was so not cool. :)

If it voided, but they have an open slot, they have a chance of picking them up still by visitng your town, as long as they are the first and you haven't tagged anyone yet. But... only if you feel they deserve it.
