Villager dilemma - help?

I'm very particular about what kind of villagers I put in my town. First off, I like to have one of every personality type to avoid the repetition. Since that is accomplished with 8 villagers, I give myself two freebie villagers, 1 which is male and 1 which is female in order to keep a balance of 5 boys and 5 girls. They are both of whatever personality type I like. I pick villagers based off of this and my theme which is fairy tale.

So my dilemma is this: I have Curly picked out as my only jock villager (and he's ready to move in whenever from my cycling town). However, I recently got Merengue in my campsite and invited her into my cycling town. I originally wanted Merengue in my town but I already had my two normal villagers picked out, Fauna and Tia. I had no place for her.

I really love Merengue much more than Curly and I'd like her to move in but I'm afraid it will upset my balance of boys/girls and my personality mixing, since that is 3 normal and no jocks.

Opinions?

You should go for Curly, if that's what your original plans are. You can keep Merengue in storage, and when Merengue is ready to move, you should let her into your main town.

I would do that if I could but unfortunately Merengue would be the 11th villager in my town if I went with my original plans. Someone has to go in order for her to move in and Curly is the one I'd want to go the most. I love how he represents the fairy tale theme and I don't mind the jock personality, but he's not my favorite aesthetically. Plus, jock villagers don't give the most fairy tale esque PWPs.

That's a tough choice. I like to have one of each personality type and 5 males + 5 females too, but if it came to getting my old Midge back I would consider having 4 males and 3 normals. I don't think there's really a right answer here so just trust your gut

Ugh yeah I'm trying but it's hard. I just wish all the normals weren't so darn cute!

I'm aiming for the same balance as you in my town, so I understand your sentiment, but if you love Merengue that much, I'd definitely go for her instead

I'll be considering it thoroughly before I make my decision! She's just so cute and lovable and I can see it more now that she's in my cycling town. Wahhh!
