So a couple days ago Pompom pinged me to move out of my island. I said yes, and 2 days later I sold her to another tbt member and her house has been empty saying that she's moved out. It's been more than 3 (actual) days now and her house is still here, and her icon is still appearing on my map.

Is this a glitch? How long does it take for them to move out? I'm getting really frustrated.. Does it have something to do with her needing to move into someone else's island first?

I just want the plot to be empty so I can hunt for island villagers again. I just time traveled another day and it still isn't gone.. I'm trying to stop time traveling so I'm not happy about that.

Does anyone know how I can get rid of her house?

How weird! I guess we are all still learning how this moving in/out works. I wonder if you have someone move-in, will they use their house? Keep the exterior? Or will everything change?

When someone moves-in, can you please let me know?

I believe it's a glitch similar to the nameless villager moving in, which is why I won't be trading with anyone until this is addressed.

Sounds about right, maybe try getting in contact with the person you sold the villager to and see if they got the other end of the glitch, if it affects both parties then that makes the glitch so much worse and should be reported too

Thanks to all who answered, I'm 100% certain it was a glitch. I tried to see if the game would let me replace her with an amiibo villager and surprisingly, it worked, which pretty much confirms that she was bugged. I'm praying that Julian can heal my game with his sparkly unicorn powers.

I'm trying to get in contact with the person I sold the villager to. I'm really hoping their game wasn't glitched. Pompom pinged me to move out on her own so I thought we were safe, but I guess not. :/ These glitches are seriously unacceptable, Nintendo needs to get their s**t together.

Edit: I spoke with the user I traded with and Pompom is safely moved in on her island.
Please be mindful that bugs can happen when trading villagers with others, even if you're doing it the "safe" way.

I don't think this is a glitch.Skye asked to move from my island and another player adopted her. After she moved out I set up a new plot with the intention of moving in Joey from an Amiibo card.He moved in just fine but instead of taking the new plot his house replaced Skye's house in exactly the same spot.I think this is just how the moving process works and it's also why Nintendo included the option of being able to move a villager's house.

I shouldn't have been able to replace Pompom when she was already moved out days beforehand though. The game was acting like Pompom had never moved away from my island in the first place. I was also thinking maybe their houses just get replaced like you explained, but I wasn't able to get villagers to spawn on the islands to replace her with, I had to force her out with an amiibo.

Also, Isabelle announced for like 3 days in a row that Pompom would be leaving the island the next day and she never did, so I'm pretty sure it was bugged.

Wow that really shouldn't be happening... Are you going to report it to Nintendo? Because they absolutely need to know things like this are happening so they can fix it, should be expected of a game that was ~60 monies and delayed for almost a year...

Don't worry, I'm going to report it.
I agree, it's ridiculous that people are even experiencing game breaking bugs like the invisible villager glitch in the first place. Especially since they're really pushing for online play and trading between players in this game. It's affecting way too many people and it's unacceptable.

It's honestly disappointing that a company like Nintendo would let major glitches like this slip under the radar.
Villager trading was such a big part of the game and I was hoping I'd get to adopt my Zucker on here since I don't have his amiibo.
I'm loving the game so far but these things have got to get fixed ASAP.
