ive just kicked a villager off of my island and where they were now another plot is available. i was hoping to just have one less villager, but because the game apparently wont let you do that my question is this:
if you kick out a villager and theres a plot available; can you invite an amiibo to the camping site and ask them to become a villager; will they take up that newly evacuated plot? or will they have an entirely new home with the plot still available for someone else to occupy?

You can invite any amiibo, but unless your amiibo is at the three day mark, then you wont have the amiibo claim the spot right away

But after you get them to the third day regardless, they'll take a spot. But regardless it will be auto filled, but you can just move them with the amiibo

thanks! i dont want anymore extra villagers, and my villager that i booted just left today so i invited the amiibo. how long does it take before someone fills up that plot?

The earliest is tomorrow. You can still continue inviting that amiibo and just kick the random move-in after that.

oh! that might work! thanks Rosch! :D
the last time i had a plot the villager took about 3 days before the spot was filled. hopefully the game will be nice to me and take that long again LOL

yes! i dont want all 10 villagers because of the way my island is shaped. putting all 10 in there would make the island look horrible and take up a huge amount of space. my entire upper section is not only narrow, but it also has a river running through it and i dont want to terraform it, so that takes a lot of space out where villagers could have moved into. that leaves only one level where the villagers can stay and still look decent. its kind of a drag but im making it work lol
