Well, Nibbles is out of here. I believe she moved the day before yesterday, but seeing as Isabelle neglected to tell me whether she was in boxes or not (I'm guessing it was a glitch), I'm not 100% sure.
I did get a letter from Nibbles yesterday, though. It said that she had moved and asked that I try not to forget about her. If I could respond to that, I would write:

Dear Nibbles,

I'm sorry you had to move away from Unknown. I'll miss you a lot, but if you weren't happy there, then it was probably for the best.
Don't worry. I'll never forget about you. You were my first squirrel villager. How could I?
Please, be sure to drop by Unknown sometime, so we can catch up later.

From Your Former Mayor,
Eliza

Anyway, now that one new space has opened up for my dreamies, I've decided I'm going to try harder than ever to get Rowan and Naomi to move out. The problem is, I had a pretty good friendship level with both of them before I decided they had to go, which means the ignoring method will probably just prolong the process them asking to move out. So I decided to try a new method.
During my daily forum lurking session, I came across a post in which someone said that villagers with a higher friendship level have a tendency to want to move more and therefore, ask to move out more often. Normally, I wouldn't know what to of make this and would ask around before deciding to implement it myself. But I've been watching the ZackScottGames ACNL Let's Plays since the get go (they're what made me decide to buy the game) and some of his original villagers seem to ask to move every other week, so I'm gonna take a chance and say that the person from the forums might be right. It actually makes sense if you think about it.
Think of your original as hometowners for your town. They've lived THEIR ENTIRE LIVES. They were born and raised there. They're parents died there (if they even have parents???). Why wouldn't they want out, especially after a new mayor comes along and starts changing everything they loved about their hometown?
It's perfectly logical, if you ask me.
Just in case I'm wrong, though, I will keep you guys posted on how this works out.
