I have been playing ACNH since the day of its release and I am not a TTer. I have noticed since the very beginning that only one of my villagers (Rory) will interact with me. Rory will run up to me and give me things or he will have that expression while walking around town that means he will give you more things. However, none of my other villagers have ever done this. I thought that all of the villagers were supposed to get excited and run up to you on occasion. I mean if I catch them at their DIY workbench, I still get the recipes, but that is all I get from them. Is this a bug, strange luck, or just the way the game works?
Try sending them letters with presents attached. I've noticed that the higher your friendship with a villager, the more they seem to interact with you.
It probably depends on your friendship level with them. Do you spend a lot of time talking to them or sending them gifts? Mine ping me quite a lot and shower me with presents lol.
I've had similar experience. Only my starting Jock has been pinging me. Kinda disappointing, it seems like villager interaction is at an all-time low with this game which takes away a lot of the charm and connection to the game for me.
Honestly, New Horizons definitely works with the 'friendship level' more than other games in the series. I'm fairly 'good' friends with most of my villagers and I've been pinged by pretty much all of them at least once, though Snake pings me the most currently.
Zucker is in love with me. Lol. In any case, I’m guessing it’s random depending on how close you are to the villager. I was surprised earlier when I logged into the game and got a letter from Sprinkle congratulating me on a house upgrade and she gave me some stuff for a bathroom. I haven’t told anyone I’m upgrading my house, except Nook. I’m thinking if Sprinkle is a stalker. Honestly though, the interactions in this game is another level. Give it time. You’ll see.
My Louie regularly comes up to talk to me, give gifts, teach expressions etc. Maybe they made the jock your best bud and the uchi takes time to warm up. But, yeah, gotta increase those friendship levels.
My starter uchi is one who's most affectionate. I did spend the most time interacting with her as I've been playing late and she's the only one up at that hour. The newer islanders do ping on occasion, but not like my uchi who does it several times a day with gifts/expressions. Like most things in AC, it's about investing time and being patient with steady progress.
I don't know about these other posters but I have a villager I hate, but she still pings me and tries to interact with me. Even ones I don't talk to as much. Don't really understand how this works lmao.
I wish there was a way you could get a better read on your friendship level with each villager, like I dunno maybe you can get Isabelle to run a survey on what 'x' villager thinks of you.
