Why would Nintendo do this? Villagers talk so much less in this game and seem to have so much less to say...they say one thing, say one or two things about that thing again, then they just keep repeating themselves until you go in and out of a building. In the GCN and WW versions you could talk to the villagers as much as you wanted...this is so stupid. I am so tired of Nintendo downgrading things...

If anything they've upgraded them. At the moment villagers have nothing to say because the game's only just come out but in a month or two when everyone has the game and villagers have moved around a bit, they'll share letters, things people did, patterns and other things from a random persons town with you.

...yeah, you just completely ignored everything I said. They most certainly have NOT upgraded them, they have a lot less to say. It is impossible to deny that the way they talk now gives them less to say than they had in previous games...instead of being able to talk to them continuously, you can talk to them once, then once more, wherein they will say something related to something they just said, then MAYBE once more where they will say something else like that. After that they just keep repeating themselves until you go in and out of a building...that's a fact, and no amount of blind optimism can change that.

Or you can talk to a different villager. ;)

I like it, it is new.

...you like the fact that they've made the villagers have less to say.

Yeah, okay.

Honestly it would be better if you guys admitted that the game has faults...if people keep enabling Nintendo like this they are never going to improve the games. Saying that you don't care about a downgrade is one thing...but saying that you like a downgrade?

Maybe I'm the only one that talks to villagers a lot, but I always enjoyed it...and now it just seems empty.

The game HAS faults - no really? The villagers are weird in this, yes, really shifty and seem tight-lipped, but it seems that the more they know you (friend points) the more they'll spill.

I like talking to villagers too, but it seems like this game is holding off on a lot. I'm still waiting for my axe and slingshot.

And you completely ignored what I just said.

I agree with Jason, maybe after a while the villagers warm up to you and you actually can speak with them more than just 2 phrases, trust me I find it tedious too. If it will take some time, just bear with it. I wish they gave them more to talk about in the beginning, but if its a gradual thing I can be patient about it.

I would just say they have as much difference speech as they did in wild world.

It doesn't seem like they have less to say to me.

Anyway the neighbors always did seem to repeat the same things. Amusing really.

i feel like the animals' memories are better now. like their requests last for a couple of days, and then they move onto something else.

i'm big on the varied and plentiful conversation though, because i'm doing a lot of talking (so i can get the portraits). once i get my first one, i'll shut up about them. hahhh
