Almost every time I come inside my house to change my attire, someone arrives. Which can be annoying when you have something to do. Do you wait for them to leave? Or do you just leave?

Usually, I just talk to them to get the gift, then play a card. Then I rest my game until they decide to leave.

I usually do the same thing! One time I accidentally said "don't leave yet!" and they stayed a lonnnnnnng time (':

I normally just play a game with them then leave, to be honest it gives me a bit of a shock every time someone comes knocking at my door

I feel bad doing it, but normally i just talk to them a few times, getting the present and playing the card game, then i'll take them around my whole house. If they don't leave after a full tour, I just leave to kick them out and get on with my day lol. They always crash when I'm trying to fix my house up

the first few times, i did wait until they left themselves -- although there were occasions where they seemingly just wouldn't. pretty sure punchy was in my house for a good 20 minutes or so the first time he visited. fortunately, i don't get impromptu visitors very often. it's only happened a handful of times since the update dropped. regardless, these days i just talk to them enough to receive a gift or buy a piece of furniture and play a card game, then leave. how long they hang around for seems to be inconsistent in my experience, so i just end it of my own accord instead.

I had Punchy visit once (for the 3rd time), then 30 seconds later he wants to leave. That was my fastest visit.

I avoid picking the "stay longer" option because they really do stay longer than intended.

I’d feel bad just leaving if they came to hang out. I just have emotional attachments to these villagers, especially since they are visibly upset when you try to leave early. I’d find it annoying though if it happens all the time where you’re just in your house and a villager comes in. I think it happens more often than it should.

I do the same thing. Talking a bit, giving me a present, playing a card game (could be optional), and relax.

I don't find this annoying in my opinion.

i usually let them stick around and hang out unless i'm in a rush to leave. then i just leave. it's not as huge an inconvenience to me as it seems to be for lots of other people.

I wait and chill out with them for a bit. I'm usually not in any rush to get out of there so I'd rather appreciate them coming over and just talk with them, lol. Still, the moment they ask to leave, they're gone. No need for them to stick around any longer than necessary.

I just talk to them a few time and do the card game because free stuff is always fun

Then I just wait for them to leave

I know how annoying it was when they just barge in when you're in the middle of doing something and if you're not in the mood to

Unfortunately when you're in the main room of your house they just barge in instead of asking permission to come inside which can be very annoying, especially if I'm busy (which I am most of the time).

I tend to ignore them when I'm in other rooms and they'll just leave.

IDK, when the whole visitation thing just came out I was excited about the concept but now I just find it annoying 😅

I just ignore them by pressing B before they even enter, in turn it forces them into thinking I'm not at home and they'll simply try again another day. It's so much easier than letting them come in and hang out especially if you're about to decorate, craft or cook.

I don't usually enter my house often to acknowledge this, but when I do I usually enter a room other than my main room to wait until someone is knocking on my door. When they are I stay in a room other than the main room until they leave, that's my que to do whatever else I want without any interruptions.

That may sound unfriendly but that's how I did it in New Leaf.

I hide in the other room or I leave. I don't care, lol. I like my villagers but I really don't like the random visits.

Peewee popped into my house at 2AM. Then I tried to humor the situation and give him a tour where I realized he refused to follow me. So I went to leave and before I reach my destination, he announces he's leaving. I was about to stab him.

On one island, I time traveled to fill my house with cockroaches so that when they visit, they will be freaked out and leave. On my other island, I just head for the door when they've stayed too long and they excuse themselves. I'm relieved to have storage sheds outdoors now so that I don't have to go inside to access storage. Maybe I need to put a wardrobe outside too. But when you are working on decorating your interior, having someone drop by is annoying. Fortunately they can only come in when you are in the main room. One villager visited when I was working on a side bedroom and kept knocking but I ignored her and she finally went away.

I end up staying until they ask to leave and let them leave. I always feel like they must know that I want them to leave and take forever to say they're heading out. 🤨

For me, it depends on a number of things. If I stepped in just to do something that takes me like 10 seconds and I have other things I'm actively working on, I spam talk to them to get through the gift + the card game, then I walk out because if I have something I had to do, I won't remember if I don't leave immediately, lol.

If I was in the middle of working on my interior, or something, then I'll stay until they get bored and leave. I usually will just open my storage and poke through my items, put things in my invo, hit the mirror or closet just to see what I got, even if I've already changed recently, etc.

I usually try to leave because when I play this game I have a whole checklist of things to do and I don't have the patience to wait around for villagers visiting my home. This is especially bad when the visiting villager decides to sit down on a chair and starts reading. I say to myself, "I thought you were visiting, not moving in". One time when Rolf randomly decided to visit. I almost immediately wanted to leave, but for some reason he prevented me from doing that. I thought it was a glitch and trapped in my own home, but I waited a while and was able to leave, Rolf realizing his presence was annoying me. Not to say I hate villager visits, but I just hate surprise visits. I wish visiit were like in NL and you could schedule a time. Maybe there will be an update that could implement this somehow.
