The jump from New leaf to new horizons is not only astounding, but the visuals are absolutely astounding once you look closely. What is something you find visually appealing about the game? Anything you appreciate about it?

i love the atmosphere changes in form of lovely autumn fog

I love the early morning fog! Its such a nice surprise to start the game and you get a blanket of fog. It makes the game feel more real than it ever has been.

My favourite visuals would have to be skies and wind. From sunsets to the night sky, the visual changes take your breath away. The night sky is my favourite though. Making wishes made me appreciate it so much. I just love how the stars change according to the real world. The wind in this game is also amazing. I love the subtle breezes on the trees. Its so much better than the static trees in NL.

it's funny to think in the NL days we thought the graphics were incredible but somehow looking back i'm like ?? we really came so far. but yeah in the acnh visuals it's really the little things that i appreciate the most - foggy mornings, sunsets, the lightning flashes during a storm etc

I remember seeing the New Leaf graphics before the game came out. My jaw literally dropped when I saw that the characters could wear... PANTS. And the trees were so tall! (Admittedly, the earliest draft of NL trees had branches, which was freaky, but I loved it then.) The game looked UNBELIEVABLY good.

Then the earliest NH trailers dropped, and I literally watched them again and again because everything looked AMAZING -- so crisp and soft and shiny and fuzzy in exactly the right way, with so much detail put into the textures. And... KNEES!

Now I'm spoiled and am somewhat used to the graphics, but occasionally the tiny details — textures on the rugs, a gorgeous resort sunset, the felted look of my villagers, wood grain on some tiny object — still bring me so much joy.

The love that went into the graphics and visuals shines. ♥️

The game is beautiful. I think my favorite part of the graphics is the outdoor lighting and environment. The sunsets, the early morning glow, dusk... or when the weather changes and it feels like it's going to rain or is windy... the shadows clouds make when passing by... all such really nice touches which makes the game that much more enjoyable. :)

I also love how soft the animals look... like they're covered in velvet.

love how each tree has a slightly different shade so when there's a bunch together, some are more brown or red in fall or different shades of green.

The whole game looks amazing, especially the museum, but the shadows that objects cast continue to amaze me ... The shadow of the windmill wheel turning during one of those gorgeous orange sundowns, or the abalone when it's stuck to the glass throws its shadow onto the floor !! They move, too, as the day changes, it's an amazing little detail ...

Also, the rain pattering against the window when you're indoors ... And the fact that things are blown when put near a fan or something ... The little details are astounding ...

I really like how the villagers look like felt creations. At least they look like that to me if you look close. It was one of the first things I fell in love with when seeing the trailers of the game when I was considering trying out Animal Crossing.
And one other big one for me is the weather. Mostly those times before a storm. I guess it is more about lighting and wind effect than weather, but the rain and snow flurries are awesome too.
The fish, bugs, and sea creatures are also really nice with detail. They look pretty realistic in a good way. I think the fish have the most detail and look stunning. I love those beetles though. They are just neat.
Museum is calming. It just looks really nice and I have found my self wandering through there more than once.
As for something newer, the Roost. It is just plain cozy in there and so chill. I have yet to find other villagers in there though...
I look forward to cooking later because of how detailed the dish pictures appear online and on the diy cards. Make something yummy in my cozy house on a rainy or snowy day...

I recently got to see the aurora borealis (had to google that one to make sure i spelt it right!) on my island and i was simply stunned

I just kind of tilted my screen up there to stare it. It’s my favorite night sky, I think, though i really like the way the heavy cloudy days look too! I don’t know if i’ll ever get to see an aurora borealis in person, esp with the way travel is now, so that sky is kinda special to me in the same way snow is in animal crossing

Speaking of snow, i find the falling snowflakes so pretty too! They look so perfect and dainty to me..I can’t even explain it; maybe it’s just how i’ve never seen snow but twice in person!

I really like how the villagers look now. I mean, they look like humans in mascot animal suits. They’re drawn to have long arms and long legs, the only thing they need are opposable thumbs. (Our player lacks fingers altogether, though, so maybe not…) I prefer the designs now. They just look squished and oddly morphed in Animal Crossing’s predecessors (excluding New Leaf obviously).

I just love the level detail in the weather patterns especially when they transition whilst you're still playing like the rain slowly stopping, clouds breaking up and the sun shining through. Also I love how thunderstorms are realistic to the point that even when your inside a building you still get the lightning flashes through windows.

This may be a less obvious one, but I really like the user interface/graphic design in the game, especially the Nook Phone. Having the villagers faces present on the map and other menus is also a really nice addition.

The graphics is really close to realistic and I like it, my favorite is the detail in the museum
