This is my first every Animal Crossing adventure. A tropical hamlet of fun and flowers. I'll try and document the little story of my town here. Wailea is still growing and changing and we still have friends moving in and moving on.

Wailea, some say that it’s a paradise, some say it’s a barely rehabilitated wasteland, some a mystical dinosaur burial ground, an occasionally haunted oasis, a smuggler’s cove.

But really, we’re just a little island hamlet, where you can enjoy the sea air, the changing of the seasons, the colorful foliage, and friendly neighbors.

Slow down or run free (or both), breathe deep. Wailea is a safe harbor.

Happy Anniversary Wailea! One year and Counting...

I really can't believe it has been a year since I started Animal Crossing New Horizons, on April 29, 2020, figuring I would while a few hours...now it has been about 1800 hours of fun and the good times on my humble little island keep rolling

My first 10 villagers were:

Genji
Shari
Rex
Bangle
Vesta
Lionel
Yuka
Kabuki
Flurry
Ruby

Here's a couple highlights from way back when...

I loved both my starters, though I suppose it says something that Genji is still around and Shari is not. Still, she is pretty adorable. She comes across as more soft than other sisterly villagers to me.

Bangle was meant to be a short time villager is still around, making Wailea fabulous.

My wonderful first 5 (which soon became 6)!

decided to take this journal a little more casual. I just don’t have time/ am too lazy to make it a big production
So… without further ado, this happened lately:

Welcome Plucky

I know, I know, all the uchi villagers are the same. But Plucky is the sweetest! I was not sure of her at first but now…

my first conversation with her the first day she was out of boxes:

A day in Wailea…

Super excited to have a camper, even though I currently am not ready to let any of my villagers go. And the campsite is giving me mostly crankies, because I do not have one.

so I went in and found…

Peewee! Maybe it is that I have seen him so much through @Pyoopi ’s screencaps, or maybe it was my campsite thirst, but I though he was pretty cute!

Lately I feel like some of my favorite villagers are ones I was unsure about before they moved to my island, which makes me wish all the more that I had more villagers spaces.

Still, at least I had a fun little visit with Peewee.

Tabby

There’s no deeper meaning to this post. Basically, I just love Tabby. She’s just lovely, quirky, and perfect. She’s the first villager I just saw a picture of and knew would be a favorite.

(Look how pretty!)

she is a perfect little ball of hyperactive cute and weird.

she loves to sing at the windows (or behind) the houses of her neighbors - I know this is probably confirmation bias, but I swear Tabby is the only villager I have who sings to everyone’s houses. I feel it is very appropriate cat behavior.

She always adds to the scenery

Anyway, in short, she’s Wailea’s number one star:
