I'm planning on getting another switch so I can start another island. Been toying with the idea of a switch lite for a while now and now being able to start a new island is enough reason to push me to get it.

So if I get a switch lite and get a new physical copy of ACNH (currently have digital on my first switch). Then use the same account on both switches. Will this work in terms of having a brand new island without disrupting my original one? I don't think ACNH supports cloud saves so I figure that should be good.

I don't care about visiting myself or trading with myself or anything. Want to get a totally fresh experience.

Thanks!

I have multiple islands on multiple Switches with the same account and your new island wont affect your original island.Game saves are specific to the whichever Switch you're playing on.

All save data for ACNH is saved onto the console so you could even use the same physical copy if you had one and depending on the switch different islands! Its just like City Folk for the Wii since its saved to the console. ITS NOT LIKE NEW LEAF OR WILD WORLD, YOU CANNOT BUY DIFFERENT CARTRIDGES FOR DIFFERENT TOWNS YOU NEED A WHOLE NEW CONSOLE FOR IT!

Okay perfect, just wanted to make sure! Wanted to make sure using the same account didn't mess with anything.

Thank y'all so much

Hey, late to this question. I don’t have a second switch, but in the case if I ever do get one. Can I use my account to download acnh to the second switch and play it that way? And then therefore can use local play to go between? Or would I need to buy the game a second time with a new account?

You need a second copy of the game
Otherwise it tries to verify you're not playing it at the same time
