Weird fears that you have?

I'm scared of creepypastas even if I know they're not real (I've been very paranoid of Pokémon Lost Silver when I was 13, and damn that felt so very real), does that count too?

i'm scared of microwaves because i'm worried it'll explode
so when i make food in it, i stand outside the kitchen until it's finished 😅

i'm also scared to go near cats, they're so cute and i really want a pet cat but when i was 4 or 5, i was scratched by a cat and now i can't go near them

I don’t exactly have these fears anymore but I used to be scared of popping balloons, squeaky toys, and touching cheese with my bare hands.

I am afraid of talking on the phone. Whenever the phone rings unexpectedly, my heart starts racing and I panic. Before I can call anyone on the phone, I have to run through the entire conversation in my head to make sure I know what to say because my mind will start drawing a blank as soon as the other person picks up. I much prefer text or email.

I’ve had an irrational fear of touching fish my whole life. To this day you can’t make me swim in a lake, river, or ocean. Fish just seem so slimy and erratic. I still loved my goldfish growing up though.

The weirdest fear I've ever had was been scared of a room in the house I grew up in, we moved about 5 years ago so I'm not there anymore and I wasn't scared of the room anymore but for a long time growing up I'd avoid it. The house was very old and pretty big so to get to the garden you had to go down three steps through a door at the back of the kitchen which would take you to the downstairs WC and the door to the stone patio, but you could also turn the corner and go down three more steps to get to two more doors - one to a cellar where random items were stored and one to the 'snooker room' (we always just named it that due to the snooker table taking up most of the room), which was the room I grew to have an irrational fear off. When we'd first moved there we kept the family computer in the snooker room and it never bothered me been in there to use it but over the years we got our own laptops which we kept in our rooms and my dad moved the family computer to a room upstairs and as I never really played snooker, unlike the rest of the family, there was nothing for me to visit the room for. It was all okay till a few years later when I was at home with one of my brothers while everyone else was out for the evening at a party (I was run down with a cough so decided not to go and one of my brothers stayed at home as I was too young to be left alone and he was old enough to stay) and I heard a noise downstairs while I was trying to sleep, it was a bit like a little bang and a knocking noise. The snooker room was carpeted but the ceiling was wooden - it had sounded a bit like someone had knocked on the ceiling of the room - plus it also had a door in the room which was another way to get to the garden and a door that took you to another large basement, as well as a very small window to the garden that we kept on a latch for the cats to come in. I tried to ignore the sound but it kept happening and eventually my brother went down to explore to find no one there but I still couldn't settle and when I heard the noise again I called my parents, who came straight home. Once they'd also checked the room and found it empty I finally went to sleep and the night was just written off to me been too tired from been sick at the time but it stuck with me for years and for a very long time I would never go near the room and by the time we moved house I'd only returned to the room during the summer months - I never went in the room again when it was dark. Looking back it seems like a very strange fear to have when there was nothing wrong with the room but it just managed to creep me out.

This needed up way longer then I intended 😂

when i take a shower i get the feeling that its gonna explode or im gonna get electrocuted or something and im also afraid of eating anything that i havent eaten before/in a while, ive never had an allergic reaction to food in my life (ive had an allergic reaction to ibuprofen though) every time i try something new im bracing myself for anaphylaxis lol

not really "weird" i guess but i have a crippling fear of latex balloons specifically because i'm always afraid they'll pop in my face

What are some weird fears that you have?

I literally never take my shoes off unless it’s for showering. I know that’s strange, but when I was younger (like really young), my mom had left out a box cutter on the floor unattended, and I stepped on it when I was 5 and well, you know the rest. I had this weird anxiety about being barefoot ever since. I guess this could be considered a weird fear?

My weirdest fear is of fish and being tickled, I hate being uncomfortable and both make me that way. Fish are just creepy af, I remember seeing a fish in the reeds when my dad used to take me fishing, and it was the most hideous scary thing I'd ever seen. So yeah, from that day i've been scared of falling into any large body of water, especially rivers and creeks. Definitely heart attack mode if I ever did, shower to scrub myself for hours haha!

I'm super afraid of burning alive. Or dead. Or anything being on fire that shouldn't be. Or something that should be on fire being on fire in a PLACE it shouldn't be. I have this OCD thing about checking the vents on the floors to make sure nothing is near them that could catch fire while the heat is on, checking the knobs on the range, etc. 😳😓

I don't like small holes. I don't mean in the sense of claustrophobia, as I'm not really all that claustrophobic. What I mean is I don't like holes like drains in floors and so on. Random holes in like the siding of a house, and so on. They weird me out. I believe I've read this is a somewhat natural fear because we've evolved to understand that danger can nest inside small holes, like wasps and so on. I've never had a particularly negative experience with dark, small holes, but I am afraid of them nonetheless. It's bad enough that I do not even like working on my own plumbing for running new pipes and so on. I just. Don't like small holes.

This is going to sound dumb but I am scared of sliding down poles, like those poles you see on the playgrounds for kids to play on, I have always been scared of those. When I was young I thought I was going to just fall straight down and break my legs or something. Lucky I don't want to be a firefighter on anything XD.

- Being in a car that falls in to a body of water
- In horror movies, one of the tropes that gets me the most is when faces go all wrong. Like a demonic possession face, for example

The Oven. I know I said I love baking and cooking and I LOVE IT but idk I get REALLY SCARED AROUND OVENS 🥵 I think I should try and get better at that! I always have oven mitts but like I always think that the oven will burn me or something. But atleast I am very careful! I haven't been hurt yet!

maybe im a germaphobe but i really hate touching door knobs and sink faucets. i never close doors in my house completely so i can open it by pulling on the knob with my elbow, i also open the faucet that way too. i especially hate opening the sink faucet in the bathroom because i think of it this way: people flush the toilet and all the particles from the flush get on the faucet, people open the faucet with their dirty hands after they use the bathroom. im probably overthinking this...
