๐ŸŒผ Here I will post about the town of Floaroma, a fragrant paradise for flower lovers and green thumbs alike! ๐ŸŒผ

I don't plan on using this as my daily journal (I'm not consistent enough to keep a journal) but if anything cool happens on my island then I'll upload it here so yall can check it out! Something cool always happens in Floaroma, and it's especially exciting when new hybrid flowers pop up!! So be prepared to see many, many flowers throughout the many posts in this journal! :D

๐ŸŒผA few fun details about my town! ๐ŸŒผ
- My town is named after Floaroma Town from the Sinnoh region in Pokemon. The town is known for being covered in hundreds of beautiful flowers, and is home to Sinnoh's most popular flower seed shop. It is my favorite town in any Pokemon game I've played, and I figured that the name Floaroma would suit my new island very well!

- Just like the town of Floaroma in Sinnoh, this island is covered in flowers. Along with interior design and natural landscaping, my favorite aspect of the Animal Crossing games is the ability to care for flowers and crossbreed them for cool new colors! I've actually considered doing some hybrid giveaways, since they're so prominent on this island!

- The island is (and will be) kept largely intact since the start of the game. I'm not too interested in terraforming, and thus far I have only used it to make accomodations for bridges and inclines!

- Does the town tune sound familiar? That's because it is the same as the default town tune from City Folk! I've used this in pretty much all the towns that I have, including my New Leaf town Boston!

- The theme of this island, following the flowery landscape, is al naturale, and thus is noted for its beauty in its simplicity and cozy vibe. If you'd like to visit a town bursting with natural floral beauty then you've found your getaway location!

So today in my town I found that I was finally able to grow a Black Cosmos plant! I have about 8-10 orange ones put together and it must have taken about two weeks for these to pop up, but I'm glad that they finally did! :)

EDIT: Also, in case anyone was wondering. Yes, the hybrids have begun to spread rapidly around my town, like weeds. I might open up a hybrid shop once everything settles down and I'm out of school. Until then I'm just gonna have hundreds of hybrids scattered around my town. ๐Ÿ˜‚ ๐Ÿ˜‚

I have a few pictures to share today! ๐Ÿ’•

So first, as I mentioned in the previous post, while trying to TT to move someone out my hybrids just went wild and started to spread everywhere. I'm in the process of cleaning up the town and relocating the extra hybrids, but as I was going through I realized that I really liked this one spot in particular. it has every color of cosmos in the game save for the black ones (I have two of those up on the cliff). I'll have to move these flowers eventually but I kinda want to use this as a reference for another area I will develop later!

Next I wanted to show off my favorite room in my house. It's the only room that's "complete" to me and it pretty much matches my vibe/aesthetic in every way! It has posters of my top 3 favorite villagers on the wall, it has a rainbow ice cream cone, it has lava lamps, it has a groovy floor/wallpaper, it has teddy bears, it has cool clothes, it has a pretty flower, and let's not forget the squeaking baby chair!

Lastly I just wanted to share this screenshot that I took. I feel like it captures the essence of Floaroma pretty well! ๐Ÿ’• ๐ŸŒˆ ๐Ÿ’

I'm sure many of you know this, but I'll say it again. This boy right here is my absolute favorite villager!
He's been my favorite for many years now; it's prob because he gives kind of a nerd/beatnik/hipster vibe that I just really love. I think I had him in one of my old AC:GCN towns, but I haven't had him in that game in years. He was absent from Wild World and City Folk, and New Leaf until the WA update came around. Imagine how excited I was when I found out that my favorite boi was coming back!!

So of course, I had to get him in my New Horizons town as well. One of my friends found him in their campsite and held onto him for me (super grateful for my AC friends btw). Now he's happily reading his book among the hundreds of flowers in Floaroma, and I always get super happy and excited when I see him ๐Ÿ’•

Today, with the help of my friend Flare, I was able to get my last dream villager Claudia! I really love her pink/blue aesthetic; I'm more attracted to villagers who are nice and colorful so she was a must-have in my town. Plus she's my first snooty villager in NH so that's great too
(also she appreciates my love and skill for gardening so she's automatically cool lol).

I also just wanted to show off a project I'm working on right now. It's nothing substantial like everyone else has been doing with terraforming, decorating with furniture, etc. but it's an idea that goes back to my New Leaf days. I'm organizing the flowers near my house in a rainbow order, which is made easier than in NL simply because green mums exist (there were no green flowers at all in NL). I try to use each kind of flower once in this lineup. It's been a bit of a hassle getting green mums and yellow lilies but I'm hoping to have this done soon! :)

After watering my black roses for a week or so I finally got a gold rose! I put all my black roses in 3x3 squares (I have two complete patches rn) and just kept watering them with the gold can until I got one. I'm really glad I'm finally starting to get them, I've been wanting to put some over by Leopold's house!

I finished some landscaping in the northern part of my town. Been trying to think of what I want to do in terms of landscaping the entire town, and since I can't really find anything online that interests me (I think I would like to try and create my own image, though that's not to say I don't really like looking at other people's stuff ๐Ÿ‘€) I just went ahead and did this based on what I'm looking for. I really like how these turned out, and it makes me excited to think of what I could come up with next!

Also I'd like to just take a second to appreciate the ability to terraform. I don't use it in crazy ways like some people do (making these big waterfalls and intricate entrances n stuff) but I've used it to move a river out of the way and move a cliff so I could fit a ramp to align with the path going back to the northern beach. It really is very nice to have.

The first area is a little fishing hole. I'm thinking of maybe adding in a cooler or something to fill out the left side (or maybe another flower) but I think it looks pretty great right here:

The second picture is actually an idea that I already started a few weeks ago. I had the chairs/bench and bonfire over in front of the museum, but I ended up moving it over here since the area by the museum is now an "excavation site." I think I'm most proud of this one; it captures what I'm looking for in terms of landscaping aesthetic pretty well!

2020050308325300-02CB906EA538A35643C1E1484C4B947D.jpg

I would show off the excavation site here but it's not quite finished yet (I also don't have a screenshot of it for some reason. Whoops!) but I'll be sure to post it up here when I'm done :)

I finished up my marketplace today! I had this big spot next to Nook's that I wasn't sure what to do with so I cleared out all the plants, planted apple/orange trees and red/orange/yellow pansies and red camellia shrubs, and I laid down some brick stuffs. The rest is evident in the picture! I really like how this turned out, especially the rainbow cloth design I made for the stalls! :D

I've been away from the forums pretty much all week because I've been spending so much time playing NH lol :p
But I'm back, and I'm ready to show off a bunch of cool new stuff that I've created in my town!

So the first thing has to do with what I decided to do with my upper right-hand cliff. To the left of where the river starts I actually made myself a DIY area! I saw some other people online do something similar and I figured it would be really handy for crafting (especially since I was doing a similar thing before, where I just had a table and a bunch of resources lying around). This is much more organized than what I had before, and I added a bunch of assorted flowers around the edge to liven it up!
2020051410314000-02-CB906-EA538-A35643-C1-E1484-C4-B947-D.jpg

I wanted to include a pic of the flowers below the DIY area since they can't be seen above
2020051410330900-02-CB906-EA538-A35643-C1-E1484-C4-B947-D.jpg

The only problem with this area is that it makes it impossible for me to have a 5-star rating in my town. Apparently having resources dropped on benches/tables still counts as clutter on the ground. So if I ever get to the point where I'm suuuper close to getting a 5-star rating I'll have to pick up all these resources. I hate that Isabelle is like "you know Nook's buys stuff that you can't hold onto or store at home." Do the devs really expect us to just carry around all these materials all the time???
(I'm also probably gonna fix the cliff on the bottom right corner so it doesn't just cut off the log stakes and flowers.)

Anyways, you may have noticed the campsite sign there (thanks Pocket Camp!). If you follow the path behind the DIY area over to the right side of the start of the river you'll see the campsite area that I made! I didn't do anything really elaborate, but I had a little fire cooker thing and the cooler from the fishing tourney so I figured I would make something for the campsite! :D
2020051410321700-02-CB906-EA538-A35643-C1-E1484-C4-B947-D.jpg

I also made a little area for a staircase to go back to where Redd parks his boat for ease of access :)

Now, here's one of my favorite projects I've worked on so far. This is another major step-up in the development of my town; I did some major landscaping around Able Sisters and I made a pathway going up to the back of the island where all the major developments are (like the fishing hole and the DIY area). I found some inspiration online for different flower layouts and I absolutely loved this one so I used it in my landscaping here. I just love this area so much!!

And here's a little picnic area I made with the flower pattern surrounding it!
2020051908520000-02-CB906-EA538-A35643-C1-E1484-C4-B947-D.jpg

Unfortunately I don't think I have a pic rn but I also made a little fountain area with an orchard! I'll have to upload them in my next post.

The last thing I wanted to show off is my completed rainbow garden next to my house! I was finally able to get a whole bunch of green mums and finish this, and I'm absolutely living for it ๐Ÿฅบ ๐Ÿ˜
(Also because it's so big this is only half of it. It extends to the right side of the path as well, over to the river.)
(Also also I made that little sign that says "mind the flowers." Saw a different design with the same quote and I thought it was p cute so I made my own version!)
2020051714095900-02-CB906-EA538-A35643-C1-E1484-C4-B947-D.jpg

Okay that's all I have for now. I know it was a lot to absorb lol ๐Ÿ˜…
If this aint Floaroma idk what is. :p

I just took a look through all of these and wow, you have a really cool island! Sinnoh is actually my favorite region in Pokรฉmon and Floaroma Town is a favorite of mine, so itโ€™s really cool that you based your island off of that. I especially love all the landscaping and flowers youโ€™ve placed on your island. It has given me some inspiration for my own island. Thanks for sharing and I look forward to seeing more!

Ty everyone for your compliments, I super appreciate it ๐Ÿฅบ๐Ÿฅฐ

Anyways, for the last few days I've just been shifting some villagers around. First I decided to move out Olaf. That was a very tough decision because Olaf is one of my favorite villagers; I love his design and the fact that he's a smug villager. But unfortunately the latter fact is the reason why I booted him (also because I didn't want repeating species and I already have Pango, though that was only a small influence to my decision). I happened to stumble upon someone on this forum who was giving away Pashmina, and I snatched her up. I've never had her before but I really like her design, plus she's a sisterly villager which I really needed. She now happily resides in Floaroma, and she's already made me laugh a few times!
EY3r-LXw-Vc-AIColg.jpg

Also idk where she got that rainbow sweater but I'm LIVING for it.

So the last villager I needed had to be a cranky villager. I usually turn to this forum to get villagers that I want, but I was just being too impatient so I decided to try out the campsite method (can confirm, this method is like 10000x better than island hopping though it does require time travelling). I was initially going for Bruce but I settled for Chief after running into him. He was my second choice anyways. I think Bruce got lost somewhere lol. Also, Chief's color scheme fits in better with my other villagers (I already have blue villagers in Pango and Filbert), not to mention, he's a wolf and wolves are heckin cool. So after some thought I realized that he was the obvious choice. I like having him in my town a lot! It was tough to have to boot Piper, but it was either her or Bea and I like Bea just a bit more. Anyways, now Chief lives in my town as well!
EY3r-LXo-Uc-AEos-Cb.jpg

So yeah, I initially said that my dreamie list ended with Claudia, but I'm pretty sure that this is settled for now. Every personality is represented now, and there are no repeat species, so all is well!

Lastly, I wanted to show off the fountain and orchard. They're still kinda a WIP (I seem to be starting at the top of the town and working my way down) so the flowers are just running amok, but these areas are pretty much finished in terms of the layouts. :)
EY3r-LX2-Vc-AIb-OH5.jpg

EY3r-LXm-UMAId-NNG.jpg

The bushes surrounding the path here are hydrangeas so they should be blooming next month ๐Ÿ˜

I just noticed we have 4 of the same villagers! I noticed you had Pango from your post and scrolled up to see your line up. It's almost uncanny since you even have my dreamie in your town. :'D

I also love all your flowers. Such a colourful island! If you ever want to go slightly bonkers you could count every single one of your flowers and keep a tally.

You've been busy!

Your gardens are gorgeous. The intricate paths, flower symmetry, and colors - breathtaking. Looking forward to seeing it when your hydrangeas bloom. Great touch with the fruit boxes in the orchard too!

Chief looks like he's right at home now. :)

A few more new developments have been taking place in my town! :D

First, I re-landscaped the area around Nook's Cranny and the marketplace. Originally I used red/orange/yellow pansies for the area to the right of the path and for the left side it was just a random jumble of flowers. Now the landscape is more unified and this area is officially finished! :)
EZIMQMo-UEAE8wxh.jpg

EZIMQMh-U4-AE0-Xkd.jpg

EZIMQMk-UYAEp3-GC.jpg

The next area I've (pretty much) finished is this little secluded area north of the animal neighborhood, across the river. I wanted this area to have a "moonlight" vibe so I used all different shades of blue/purple flowers and cedar trees for landscaping. This is reminiscent of the library areas that many other people do. I might add onto this a bit more on the upper cliff, but for now I like how this looks a lot. The bushes surrounding it are hydrangeas, when they bloom I'll edit this post and put a screenshot of them in a spoiler :D
EZIMQMb-Vc-AAwg-Ol.jpg

Edit: here's what it looks like at night:
EZIeucb-VAAA82r-Q.jpg

Also you might notice the beach on the right is covered in flowers. I actually have a hybrid flower stash, and I put all my extras on the beach. I'm considering doing a giveaway sometime soon, since my beach is filling up pretty quickly :p

It's been a good few weeks since I uploaded anything here. But I am back and I have more pictures to share!!

So first, when I stepped outside on the second day of June I noticed that the hydrangeas were in full bloom, and boy do they look great next to my house!
EZm-QEeo-Vc-AATC9.jpg

Here's the fountain with the hydrangeas blooming around it. I don't have the outer area landscaped but I still really like the way that the bushes look!
(Also in case you're wondering, yes, I believe 100% that those "pink" hydrangeas are actually purple lol)
EZm-QEee-VAAAks8a.jpg

So I created a new small area in my town with some pink flowers and a bench, next to the river. It's just a small cute area for villagers and people to hang out and sit back for a while. I don't have an overview pic of it rn so I'll attach it to the next post. But in the meantime, here's a pic of me and Pietro sitting together on the bench:
Ea-Cu-PKj-Uc-AARUFl.jpg

I didn't realize this until after I took the pic and looked at it later, but it looks like we're holding hands here! ๐Ÿ˜ณ

I gave him that tie-dye shirt cause I think it looks a lot better on him than the jester shirt did. Luckily he seems to wear this shirt all the time so I'm glad I gave it to him!
I also gave Pango a new shirt. It's a pink groovy shirt. I think it matches her purple and green colors really well!
EZm-QEe-WU0-AYads-A.jpg

I also wanted to show off this cake dress. Oh. My. Goodness. This dress is so CUTE! I got it from Cyrus as soon as I could and I paired it with the matching shoes, a white sun hat, and a blue rose!
Here's a pic of my player standing in that one area at night with the dress on. I'll prob upload a better pic later.
Ea-Cu-PKk-U8-AAEa-FR.jpg

And I've gotten a lot of compliments from my villagers on the dress, this one was my favorite (cause ofc it's coming from my fav villager lol):
Ea-Cu-PKp-U8-AACsgr.jpg

Okay this is the last thing i wanted to share: my poster collection! On the lower row is a bunch of villagers that I really like but don't have room for in my town, and the upper row is NPCs that I'm either a huge fan of (Harriet, Digby, Katie) or I really like the look of their poster (the Resettis, Pave, Kicks).
Ea-Cu-PKr-Uc-AUe-Hm-Q.jpg

Thank you so much to all the TBT-ers who helped me get these posters! You guys rock! โ˜ฎ

wow it's been a hot minute since I posted anything here lol, still workin on a bunch of stuff so for now I'll just show all you lovely people my finished garden! :)

(unfortunately the black roses aren't visible in this pic, they're on the right side of the purple roses. too many flowers lol)
