What are people planning on doing with outside furniture when the seasons change?

I absolutely love the way we can take furniture outside now, but I was thinking about what it would be like to have a bunch of summer-themed furniture outside in the middle of winter. Usually I would try to design my towns in New Leaf as like THE town, like I wouldn't alternate the landscaping or public works when the seasons changed. But now, I'm worried about designing a whole town with lounge chairs and fruit baskets only for the seasons to change. Is anyone planning on having a summer town, and then a winter town with different decorations?

Hmmm I haven’t put much thought into it to be honest, but I’m sure there’s a lot of cool stuff you could do with furniture that would work for every season. It looks like there will be seasonal events/updates regularly (similar to how Pokemon sword/shield has been having) so it does appear to be something we’ll need to pre-plan. I think maybe I’ll try and use the database once it’s updated to look at furniture and get ideas for each season? No clue really. Things do look much easier to decorate with now than they did with New Leaf so maybe it won’t be as big of a hassle as we’re anticipating.

That's a really good point! We won't need to like disassemble a whole public works project to change things up lol

I like changing things up per season, so I'd probably pick up the furniture and display other things instead.

i think i'll have some seasonal furniture and then some permanent furniture. i don't know if i'll ever put furniture with cloth outside bc then if it rains or snow i'll have to take it inside, but something like a scarecrow can just chill there u know

I’ll probably place furniture out that could match any seasons, and then put additional themed items up as the seasons change. At least that’s what I’m thinking so far. It really depends on the furniture. It seems like there’s going to be so much new furniture in this game so until I get it to see what’s all available that’s probably what I’ll do.

I'll probably have a semi-permanent set up or like a "base" of how I'd like to have things arranged but I'm very much looking forward to being able to shift things around as the seasons change! It feels a bit realistic that way

i’ll probably change it to match the seasons tbh, but i kind of want a fall and winter setup always since those are the prettiest seasons in animal crossing imo

In winter I'll turn everything into dirt to avoid snow, and replace the trees with furniture.

I hope they actually have some of the tree items from PC. You could have a permanent cherry blossom tree.

Furniture is a lot less of a hassle than you would think, especially since we can craft a lot of it.

I’ll probably have mainly permanent items and then a few that I change seasonally. The same way I decorate my house (irl and in AC) for the holidays.

I will typically use neutral furniture since I likely will not base with any overly winter or summer theme.
Plus, I imagine I would just remove themed furniture after such time or an event passed.
Seeing the same things for a while can make me bored, so I try to change it with the mood!

I'm very lazy but love decorating. I might end up leaving my stuff out, just depends on the selection of items we can choose from!

I was planning on making permanent areas where the furniture doesn't change, and then putting out seasonal furniture or little decorations in some spots! I can't wait to see how much we can really do, it's so exciting!

It depends on the area. I'd like to have a garden area/back yard. I'll probably use something like the iron garden chair, table, and/or bench, or whatever NH has that is equivalent. Those can stay out all year and not look out of place. I'll do potted plants and different seasonal things that can be easily swapped out to decorate for the seasons.

I always did that in my NH house, so it's sort of an extension on that idea.

I?m planning on having things outside that?ll work for all seasons I think so it won?t affect me too much. But I?ll probably have some seasonal features

I'm likely going to stick to 'neutral' looking furniture year long -- wooden stuff, etc. However, I will definitely put out a few seasonal things.
