What are pm's!?

I'm new to this forum, and recently posted on the Re-Tail board, and someone told me to pm them, but I have no clue what pm's are! Can anyone help?

'pm' is short for 'private messages'. Its basically an email system within the forums. Click the notifications tab, then click inbox. I hope this helps!
To send a PM, go to someone's profile and click 'Send Private Message' on the lefthand side.
