Ursala, Bonbon, Dobie, and Julia are probably my top favorites (not necessarily in that order, though Ursala is my #1 girl I adore her)
Except for Dobie, most of my favorites are rather uncommon/unpopular, lol. But I just think their designs are SO cute.
Ursala has such a sweet face, lovely hair, beautiful colors, and just looks like the epitome of what you'd imagine a sisterly villager to look like. Plus, she has a solid pun name, which I can always appreciate. I started playing Pocket Camp in the last month or so, and I FINALLY got her in that- she's now my camp caretaker, and I love it!
Bonbon also has nice colors, but her face is where she really shines. She just looks SO different than other villagers it feels like someone really poured their heart into her design. I mean, those eyes? That hair? Those cheeks? And, the best feature IMO, that precious crooked smile. Perfection.
I feel like I don't see a lot of people gushing over Dobie, but whenever people list favorite crankies, he tends to top A LOT of lists, it seems. And it makes sense why- he's just the perfect grumpy old man. He's the one cranky who, when he complains about aches and pains or getting lost, it's like "Yah, I can see it." Whereas ones like Wolfgang, as much as I love him... he looks like he could be a young model in the game world, lol. But I was really close with my grandparents and have a soft spot for the elderly as a result, and Dobie is just the perfect old man.
Julia doesn't get mentioned a lot from what I've seen, but she definitely seems to have some fans. And I just love her. She's SUCH an elegant snooty lady. Also, her expressiveness in ACNH is just lovely- I loved her when I first saw her, but when I saw her and talked to her in game? It totally sealed the deal. Also, I appreciate LGBT+ representation, and in my mind she's trans* Because she is CLEARLY male. ANd that makes me love her even more. Also, she was the star of one of my favorite avatars I've had on this site, for Halloween:

*This is obviously not canon and is just my personal interpretation, but it makes the game and my experience more fun, so I'm sticking with it. We're all entitled to our own opinions and ideas open the game!

I could probably find my response in the last thread like this, but I’m just going to rewrite it as best as I can. I haven’t been playing a lot lately and honestly don’t feel as attached to them as I thought I was (then again, right now I’m dealing with depression so maybe it’s just today and while waiting for a good update).
Punchy is my number one favorite. He reminds me of a friend’s cat who I haven’t seen for years. I had him in New Leaf as one of my starters and he was my BFF and still is in spite of that stupid bug dialogue. I love his design since he is a cat and I love cats and I love how he is lazy but looks so sassy and smug. He has such great expressions.
Rudy has become my second favorite. I started out with him and Fuschia and originally when I saw the back of his head I thought I got katt (who I now like but back then I did not like her at all). I ended up settling with them because he was at least a cat and the map seemed how I wanted it (I only had a vague idea what I wanted). The minute I talked to him though and heard the jock sound with the meow like sound, I thought he seemed really cute and I would grow to like him. His expressions are really great. Especially his mad stomping reaction (which we still don’t have) when he is holding something. I used to hate jocks but Rudy made me realize they aren’t bad and there actually a lot of jocks whose designs I like.
I have so many favorites and potential favorites. I’ll just talk about one more and post again later.

I love a lot of different villagers! Honestly, I just pick out the ones that I think just look cute since ACNH has unfortunately removed all of their original personalities 
I wish there was a setting to make the villagers be mean again 
Right now I'm trying to get all goat villagers! Even though I don't necessarily love all of the goat villagers, some of my favorites like Kidd, Chevre, and Sherb are goats!

Kiki. I just love black kitties and she reminds me of the black cat I grew up with
Bob. I gravitated to him because cats are my favourite animal and purple is my favourite colour. It was meant to be!
Muffy. Her gothic design is A+ and she’s the cool older sister I never had.

my main favorites are poppy, lolly, filbert, and fang. 
i have a lot of nostalgia for poppy and lolly while filbert and fang are villagers i fell in love with on mystery islands. i especially love filbert, he's such a dorky baby lol.

. i don’t want to ramble so i’ll only talk about a few of them, ones that i don’t think i’ve mentioned before. :’o
marty is one of my absolute favourites right now, which i’m honestly not surprised by. i knew before i even invited him to my island that the chances of me keeping him permanently were incredibly high, and i turned out to be right. this may be my bias for lazy villagers talking, but marty is absolutely adorable. his grin is enough to light up an entire room and the rug that he has in his house will never not make me chuckle a bit whenever i see it. he’s a precious lil man, one who honestly reminds me a bit of winnie the pooh, and i love him a lot.
merengue is another of my favourites right now, which i’m lowkey surprised by. i’ve always loved the normal and food themed villagers, but i’ve never cared for her much beyond thinking that she’s cute. i recently welcomed her to my island, though and i’m very quickly becoming attached. she is adorable but i’m also just really liking having her around. she likely won’t be permanent as believe it or not, i am not trying to have an all-normal island lmao, but i have a newfound love and appreciation for her.
another new favourite of mine is frita! i’ve yet to have her on my island, but i’ve really been growing fond of her recently and would love to have her one day! i actually ran into her during one of my island hopping sessions earlier this year, but passed her up, so here’s hoping that opportunity will present itself again one day so that i can make a different choice.

Mine are Zucker, Sherb, Raddle, Stitches, and Epona.
Raddle because I think his design is really creative and he's the only Frog villager that I like, Zucker because he's my favorite Octopus even though I love all Octopus villagers since they're my favorite animal, Sherb because his design is really cute and is my new added villager in NH, Stitches because he looks spooky and cute at the same time, and Epona because of Legend Of Zelda and she fits so nicely for Animal Crossing.

In New Leaf it was Bob, Lolly, Fang, and Whitney. I love them soo much and they are most likely among my all time favorites, but with New Horizons...Audie has become my new number one! I love the wolves soo much honestly. Bob and Lolly will also forever be my next favorites.

My favourite villager ever [so far] is Gruff, my buddy from New Leaf. The rest of my Awesome Eight are Rasher, Tabby, Pietro, O'Hare, Al, Lily and Stinky ... Alas, I haven't had any of them on my NH island yet ...
My favorites right now are Gruff and Zell. Gruff's puns & jokes are pretty nice and both of their houses are cool: instruments, billiard table, etc. But I just started playing not long ago so I have yet to meet some other villagers I'm hoping Moose would move out soon to make room for future villagers...but I don't time travel or have amiibo villagers so I'll just wait and see.

Marshal and Rudy I can’t live without. I am so so fond of Maple too. They were also all in my NL towns before maybe that’s why they’re all so precious to me. Stitches, Rosie and Fang, I only had in this game and I grew really attached to them too.
