What are your favourite real-life mushrooms? 🍄

I'm no mycologist, so I'm hoping you're going to teach me about some fungi I don't know about! The morphology of different species and genera is interesting! Feel free to add pictures!

I really love the caps of Inky Cap Mushrooms, both before and after they start disintegrating!

I love Trametes versicolor or Turkey tail! <3

Mostly because of its dutch name "elfenbankje" which translates to "little bench for elves" which sounds so whimsical!

Of course I love the edible mushrooms that are popular like the white, oyster and shiitake but they are not so interesting to look at.

I think this one is my fav now ^^ the tiny ones are so cute, and even better if they’re pink

Speaking of pink, i’m also a fan of the barbie pagoda fungus!

The shrooms in the two posts above me are really cool to be honest and are probably my favorites for now, but just from doing some research I also love mushrooms that glow in the dark, specifically these glowing jack-o-lantern shrooms. They look so cool. : O

I love how blue the werewere-kōkako mushroom is... and I like the funky texture look of morels

i've also always loved the classic red toadstools, but admittedly i haven't seen a variety of mushrooms in person. most of the ones in the uk are pretty bland, usually little white or really sickly gray/yellow ones. the white ones at least look kind of cute, the latter ones not so much.

Fly agaric are my favorites! I started playing Mario games when I was little, so I think that's a big part of why they're my favorites

I love mushrooms! My favorite to eat are Enoki.
Some nice ones to look at are:

- Amethyst Deceiver (it's purple and gorgeous)
- Veiled Lady Mushroom (looks like an ethereal net)
- Lion's Mane (looks big floofy)
- Destroying Angel (looks pure but will kill you)
