We all know everyone freaking loves the game (at least on these forums anyway )! So there's no debate about whether it's amazing or not.

I just wanted to know what things you dislike or hoped could be better.

Personally, I'm disappointed about the letter sending with other players (or lack there of). I swear back a couple of E3s back (when they were first kind of talking about AC:NL) they mentioned something about being able to send postal letters to other players in other towns and I get that things change in development but I was really looking forward to that.

I was under the impression that you could send them to "best friends" but you can just message each other online in a tab.

Also I read on Nookipedia you could have 12 villagers.. now I'm disappointed it's only 10.

Not sure if there are any disappointments in the game.I guess the A.I could be smarter with letters. They all write the same clean and basic letter if you know what I mean. But what if A.I was smarter and would respond to your letters with something that actually has to do with what you are saying/asking.ACNL animal letters #lonelypersonsbestfriend Um,and also well.I think that''s it.I really can't see cons in games. All i see are the pros :p

I LOVE the game. But... I feel like a lot of the character's personalities were watered down with the new game. Blathers doesn't talk as much, Phyllis seems nicer, even Resetti is tamer!

I'm bummed that Blathers no longer says unique stuff about the insects and fish. :/ I know there's the plaques in the museum now, but Blathers just had more personality...

I also heard the episodes (the little tidbits of drama/backstory you got from characters like Tom Nook and the Able Sisters in Wild World/City Folk) are also not in this, which is a real shame.

For the most part though, this is maybe the best AC yet.

I don't like how Blathers says the exact same thing about fish/bugs/sea creatures when you donate them. Kind of disappointing, really.

Yes, exactly this!
Snooty villagers aren't snooty either in NL...
These things really bother me.
Plus... they focused to much on earning bells for my taste. Catching fish and bugs that used to be rare is so easy now, even if you don't go to the island.

the only things I am upset about character wise is blathers, resetti scared me as a child (shivers) and I wish you could design skirts and pants

This is mainly because I'm lazy but I seem to try and donate unidentified fossils far too often. So Blathers goes through the dialogue that I have nothing to donate and I have to speak to him again. Back in the older games, if you tried to donate unidentified fossils - he'd offer to examine them for you and then you could tell him to keep them. It just saved a little more time.

I think if I'm more careful, this won't be an issue any more but that's probably my main gripe.

Oh, and I wish my animals would stop telling me how to use the directional pad. I think the frequency of some lines of dialogue need to be toned down. For example, if I stopped playing the game for several weeks/months - then yeah, that message would be welcome just in case I did forget. But multiple times per day? > o<

The only thing annoying me are the constant wifi disconnects. It's ruining an otherwise fun multiplayer experience. :(

1) There is no Trade mechanic. Seems odd to miss this one seeing as how they highly encourage trading with others.

2) Bugs, Fish, Seafood cannot be traded/wrapped/etc. This makes it literally impossible for some people with tight schedules to ever 100% their museums/encyclopedias without Time Travelling.

3) No Grid mechanic for public works. Isabelle is incredibly clunky and it can be hard to tell where you're even placing things. It would have been much simpler for her to lay down a town map on your desk which activates ''work mode'' where you see the town on a grid and you know exactly where everything can and cannot go, instantly.

4) Not enough to buy using medals on the island,

5) Unable to send mail to other towns.

6) No Grid mechanic for home decorating.

7) Being unable to expand or alter your town itself. New Leaf towns are very compact and it's hard to fit a lot of things very well, especially with more public works being unlocked later down the road. Villagers moving in to random locations doesn't help either as they can then completely ruin your plans/space for more public works.

8) No camera mechanic. You're zoomed in on way too much and thus have major blind spots south of you and a good chunk of your left and right views as well. It would have been nice to assign a button or two for rotating the camera, or at least a zoom in/out. I mean we have THREE running buttons. 2 of those don't need to be for running.

1) The preview when placing the Public works projects is too close, so you might think it's the perfect place when it's one square off

2) The towns used for the Tours are bigger than the towns we live in!

3) The amount of errors we get on Wi-Fi

4) The fact that as Mayor, we can't decide where neighbours live. They can just plop themselves anywhere in town and that place can be a flower garden, a reserved space for a Public work project, or an orchid, etcetera.

What I really hate is this "you only can hold 10 patterns at the same time so you have to make 4 characters to get a nice town" well thank you very much Nintendo! My main path needs 11 spaces... then the little paths, clothes and so on!

I don't want to take so much space away in my town just because I need 4 characters... <.<

Also that the dream suite don't work is really annoying!

Isabelle seems more like the mayor than you are.
-Handles ceremonies and events.
-Handles setting up ordinances and public works.

Plus she's cute and I like her, but her personality seems very bland.. she doesn't say anything unique on the start up screen unless something new is happening, while Rover would always have something new to say. :(

Phyllis and the snooty characters are too nice, while Blathers is too calm. Even Lyle has lost his spunk, like if you tell him that he's scaring you, he just goes oh okay. -_-

How easy it is to catch rare bugs and fish now. I missed that challenge.

Hm. I don't know a thing that makes me unhappy when I play AC. It got better than before and that was also the reason why I bought this game again for the 3DS. There is just one little thing: You don't have always luck when you catch fishes! :D But that isn't a new fact, so I'm not disappointed about this. There are also more good fishes like sharks. I love the new features like the town embellishments and go swimming. These were the things I had wished for so many years! :)

~How long it takes for the game to really get started. Fortunately, my game is moving out of that phase.. But it's still doing it so slowly. I just wanted black hair, and a hairstyle I can stand, but I have to wait another like 10 days for that even though I got the game on release day. =/ There's a lot of unnecessary padding in the waiting here.

~The outdoor furniture system still needs a lot of polishing. I'm very glad we finally got it in an English version, and how it has been expanded. But it's still very limited and it takes away from actually using it. In a series where we can chop down trees at free will and never get in trouble for it from the mayor (in past AC games), the thought of a player character casually dropping off furniture outside is not too far out there. Of course, there should always be expensive community objects, but I hope next time it's an easier system.

~And as for a personal disappointment, which doesn't really amount to much, (and of which I've already been laughed at for on this forum, but I couldn't care less) I am quite peeved and saddened by how I can't have any wind instrument objects for my house, aside from bagpipes. Every other section of instruments is not only represented, but thoroughly represented - For the orchestral strings you have a violin, viola, bass. For the guitars you have a billion different types, for the keyboards you have varieties of pianos, an organ, a harpsichord, for non-guitar strummed instruments you have a great deal of those (including obscure ones), for percussion and drums, they are also vast in number. But for wind instruments you have the bagpipes... And the bagpipes are a special item you get from Gulliver. I just can't help but feel insulted as a wind instrument player and enthusiast. I just don't get it.

Not being able to pick where new villagers move in.

Isabelle being picky over where you want to place a project. "I'm the mayor here. Put my project where I want it to go Isabelle.*

I think the fact that it was advertised as having more control over your town, which you do, but still can't change little things like streams, rocks and the general layout of the map. I'd like to see more options (rather than just 4) when it comes to town creation. I think we should have full control over the town from the moment it's generated. I mean, it literally took me 12 days and 2 restarts to get a town that I'm OKAY with and I'm still not entirely happy. We're expected to play on these maps for a year or so, why not have some more control?

I too feel that some personalities have been watered down. Blathers & Co aside, the snooty and cranky personalities just aren't the same.

I agree with the watered down personalities and the lowering difficulty in the entire game (easier to make bells, easier to catch rare fish/bugs)
Storage space is also kinda small. I would prefer if all the wardrobes/dresser/etc. have one shared, so you can connect it to the locker and the rest are isolated storage like in the original AC version.
