What do I need to know about ACNH griefing methods?

I was thinking of leaving my island open to people on the board so they could sift through DIY recipes that are laying around my island. I have no way of making sure people don't just run off with them instead of using them so I am not going to try to control that. However, are there other ways people might grief? I don't care about flowers/weeds/fruit picked, Nook's Cranny, shaken trees. They have to be trusted before they can chop trees, right? I can't think of what else there would be besides littering. Can visitors gift your villagers ugly clothes??

(I tried searching for this and couldn't find a good explanation.)

I'm not too sure of how it works on gifting clothes, but they could go to Able Sisters and place crappy designs, sir I would maybe block that off so that no one gives unwanted custom patterns.

As for the trees and digging holes, they have to be registered as best friends, so you shouldn't have to worry about that.

Strangers can display their custom designs in Ables without your permission. I had this happen before and didn't realize until half of my villagers started wearing it. Luckily for me it wasn't a horrible design, but the fact is that people can display anything in a visiting Ables can turn into a way of harassing others.

The way to remove the design from your Ables is to report it, but it does not remove it from your villager's inventory if they've already started wearing it.

Oh thank you. That makes sense. And a simple fence should fix that I think!! Unless you can emergency port to Able Sisters. I will check. TY guys!

This is exactly the stuff I needed to know. Thank you so much Aardbei!!! I wouldn't have thought of that. That's why people say "gift only wrapped fruit!"

it still amazes me how nintendo didn't set up some enable/disable outside visitor designs display option

or even a tier based setup where it can be only residents can display designs, best friends, friends, or anyone
