Just finished watching a great series and now I'm in that mindset where I'm just sitting here not doing anything lol. What do you guys do when you finish a series to get motivated again?

i fixate on it or completely dump it.
if i fixate on it, afterwards basically i read the entire tv tropes article and subarticles, the whole wiki, look up fanart of it on twitter, pixiv, tumblr, and deviantart, and buy as much merchandise as i can until my next inevitable fixation.

a sense of relief that its finally off my plate if its a long running series (AHS) idk why i torture myself but i need to watch every season

i finished kiznaivers over the summer and tbh it wasnt worth finishing imo. thats the only series i've finished in a while if im remembering correctly

I don't do much series watching or playing or anything but when I do, I ALWAYS obsess over it for a while, basically just like goro. It's rare I actually find something I like a lot out of the blue.

With me I just finished watching Kakuriyo -Bed and Breakfast for Spirits- and I was soo engulfed in it and me a my friends were going on and on for days on how we thought it would end and when it did we were satisfied but sad to see it go.

All I can say to do from my experience is ask friends to recommend what they like and just jump back in.

Depending on how it tugged my heartstrings. I think I've actually cried at the end of a few series (Office, Friends, among others... I'm a crybaby okay). But, I rewatch it usually. I very rarely fully like something, so I cherish them. There are other that I think about all the time (Dragon Maid, Chobits, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, etc) that I'd gladly rewatch.

So tl;dr, if I loved it enough to keep watching, I get bummed when it ends, but usually rewatch them.

I'll feel empty and sad that its over and start a new show or rewatch and old one

I end up googling everything about it and analizying all the characters and plot and all that.

Then I'm off to fanfiction land!

Depends how it ended. With Atla I was glad that it ended on such a good note. I frequented a forum dedicated to it and so we discussed all the stuff and were happy.

Korra season 1 on the other hand, I was so pissed. And it bothered me that everyone on the forum was in the 'omg so awesome' hype. And all I could think was 'we watched a different show, right?' Cause Korra was handed everything to her on silver platter by crying. And this is literally how she started off in the beginning. To see her not develop and in fact digress was so disappointing.

And everyone just ate it up. That bothered me the most.

Honestly if its good i just stare at the ceiling for like an hour and then proceed to just look everything about it so extensively that the trivia i know about it becomes a part of my personality

I usually obsess about it for a week while feeling sad that it's over until I convince myself to find something new. Then the cycle just repeats. :p

Ah, this is about watching a series. I read the title and figured it was about books.

I can't help on the first part, because I rarely watch television, other than catch the news, an occasional movie, or maybe something on Discovery or History Channels (although, they're becoming pretty trash, too). For the second, I tend to keep several books going at a time, of different genre, so I don't get bogged in one thing. I still get a "book hangover" when I finish something really good, but usually can get past it by reading something else that is not the same genre/subject.
