What do you think the purpose of Katrina and Tortimer will be?

We know Katrina and Tortimer are coming to Harv's Island, but what will their purposes be?

Katrina will presumedly read your fortune, but the game doesn't currently have a luck system, so I wonder if there will be some other element to it.

I have no idea what Tortimer will do.

Any thoughts?

He acts as a storage like in your house. Any other things he does is unknown.

I thought there was a luck system, or at least part of one, built into the code but it just wasn't implemented yet. I can't remember for sure though. It's been a while since I read up on details of things that the dataminers have found on the game over time.

I hope Tortimer does more than just essentially serving as one of those access your storage from anywhere new furniture items. I do think that feature is useful to have on Harv's island since there's a bunch of shops, but I'd like to see him have a better role than that.

Katrina may do fortunes despite there not being a luck system. It may just be a “for fun” thing and not have any significant impact on your gameplay. If this is the case, I think that would be a neat idea. Not everything needs to impact your gameplay or serve a significant purpose. She can still be a good feature.

A 'luck system' was datamined some time ago, I think last year or early this year? I don't remember. It's not available now, but if she's telling fortunes, then it'll likely become active with the update.
