Walt moved out yesterday. While hunting today, I found him again... acting all like he doesn't even know me... the nerve!
So, if I were to reinvite him, would I get his photo a second time?
Also... if I didn't invite someone before tomorrow, will a random move in?

If you picked up Walt from the NMT island, it’s like having a brand new villager and you start from the beginning. So yes, you can get another photo. Also, you can get more than one photo from one villager if you gift them a lot over time.
If you don’t invite anyone, you’ll most likely have a random move-in. If you trade with anyone, it’ll probably fill tomorrow but if you don’t it might take a couple days

yeah you would start from scratch with him, any u encounter on mystery islands or on others islands is not the one who used to live on your island. if he had moved to another island though if u talked to him he would remember you

I'm guessing you could. When a villager moves out, if you find them on another mystery island, that second villager is considered an entirely new villager- they're not the same villager that moved out and they really don't know you.

And, possibly. Sometimes random villagers will move in the day after a plot is opened, other times it can take awhile. If you want to try and keep someone from moving in, TTing tonight so the game doesn't register a day has passed should work.

I did that with Sherb. I got him as a starter, let him move, then adopted him from a friend. It’s weird but it doesn’t feel like the same Sherbert I used to have, somehow. But that’s ok.

Here is something I noticed. Why are villagers behaving differently when you visit other people's islands. Like I went to my friend she had Judy and its not the same one I have on my island that behaves like that. So I am asking myself "Are the villagers clones?" because its strange after a villager moves out at some point you can see the same villager appear on the Nook Mile Island and when you talk to them they act like they don't know your or remember who you are. So this made me think that there could be someone out there making robots of these villagers whenever one of them leaves someone's island or if someone spots them on a nook mile island. Maybe I am thinking too deep into this but it was a taught I had for a while now.

Yeah I always find it strange how when villagers leave and you find them again on Nook Mile islands they act like they don't know who you are are. Its creepy when you think about it.

They’re completely different villagers than the ones you let move out. If you let someone adopt your villager that moved out and you go and visit or even invite them back, they’ll remember you. Otherwise, if you find them again on an island or use an amiibo card, it will be an entirely different one. If you visit someone and they had a spot open for a new villager, even if they never talked to your villager there is also the chance they move in there because you visited them and they’re in a place we called the void in NL. If you go and visit them, they’ll remember you in that case too.

Yeah I tested this theory with 2 of my islands. I made "Sora" on Destiny came for Molly that was on Twilight so invited her to Destiny. Then what I did was I invited "Roxas" who is the owner of Twilight into Destiny to talk to Molly after she moved out. To my surprise she actually remembers the owner. This was something I never knew about and when you talk more with them they mentioned how they miss the old island, but they are really happy to see you.

Now for the ones like you mentioned of villagers you get from Nook Mile Island or use amiibo card I guess these villagers are new and they act like they never seen you before so it probably explains why sometimes you may see them again despite the fact you had them on your island recently. It sounds confusing but I kinda understand now.

Theory? This was known for some time now. I’m glad you understand. It is a bit weird and can be confusing at first. If you have any other questions, don’t be afraid to ask. Probably be better to post in the faq thread than make individual threads.

To clarify I didn't make this thread it was made by someone else.

okay. I knew that, since it was made over a year ago. Not a theory though when everyone else aside from new players already knows about this, which was why I was confused.

Well I don't understand the concept of Ac too well and yes I am new player but from last year since New Horizions was my first AC game.
