What is a dream?

Something that you think up when you're asleep.

Or: a series of mental images and emotions occurring during sleep
 
A show that your brain shows you in order to trick and manipulate your emotions, because you know that dream will never occur.
 
Something you want more than anything else in the world, and you must work very hard to reach it most of the time.
 
Dreams are a series of images, ideas, emotions, and sensations occurring involuntarily in the mind during certain stages of sleep. The content and purpose of dreams are not fully understood, though they have been a topic of speculation and interest throughout recorded history. The scientific study of dreams is known as oneirology.
(or for me, a cookie.)
