I have no clue how to incorporate my plaza into the rest of my town. What did everyone do with theirs?

I kinda just try to make it the "centerpiece" of the town. I know that's kinda vague (as I'm still working on things) but it's the idea for now. I'm thinking of just surrounding it with flowers and iron garden chairs/tables to make it look like the go-to place in town <3

Right in front of my plaza is nooks cranny and the able sisters and there’s a fountain in front of them. It’s kind of like a shopping district. I also crafted some stalls and put them to the right of the able sisters for like a flea market street.

i also put the bunny fences around the plaza and plan to update it seasonally.

I put pink cosmos around it and I've also added stuff like the cotton candy stall to make it a proper town square where people want to gather. :)

i'm not 100% sure what i'm doing with it yet, but i just put a fountain in front of mine for now. idk what else to do with it though akddhsf. i might do something similar to the others and make it a lil park or garden :)

I have a small little sitting area around it right now! It isn't 100% done but it has a fountain and some benches and flowers. c:

Originally, I was going to use mine as part of a whole plaza area with Nook's Cranny, Able Sisters, and the museum, but I decided to just let it stand on its own, and decorated it with plenty of fencing, flowers, and a fountain.

And then I made my shop area a whole nice promenade-looking space, which I love way more.

Since we can't place anything in the plaza, I expanded it southwards. This new "plaza" will be decorated with the current seasonal/event items! On other days, it'll just be an empty area with benches.

I also have a little shopping street to left where Nook's Cranny and the Able Sisters are, along with a small giveaway area for island visitors. :)

Mines the center of town. When you walk up from the airport I have a street of houses behind that is the plaza. Behind the plaza is shopping. Left and right of plaza more houses.
I have some akward gaps I'm not sure what to do with so I just shoved stalls and a fountain on them. It's not creative but its convenient.
New Leaf taught me I never use the plaza / town hall unless it's near something else hah hah.

I made a hilltop right behind the plaza, so the plaza got a "wall" behind. On top of the hill I added another small hill where I put down a sakura tree anda waterfall. From the I formed a river and two waterfalls down to the left of the plaza.

… It's so hard to explain. But it looks like this:

Haven't dont anything to the front yet, so it's fun so see what everyone have been up to ♡

I finally got around to fixing it up the other day:

Here's a more encompassing shot (don't know if I'll keep the floor lights, they're brighter than I thought they would be):

And here's how it came to be: The Resident Services is offset from the airport by a little bit which, of course, bothers me, so I got the idea to fence in the entrance from the airport and guide toward the Resident Services and then this whole idea for the plaza popped up quickly (the fountain was already there, but not anything else)

I haven't done anything yet. I plan to have the shops and museum around it, as a business section. Right now, I've started planting pear trees and windflowers around it, as both are my natives.
