Nobody actually confuses it. It's just some people were introduced to it like that and got used to itTBT stands for The Bell Tree Forums (sometimes said as TBTF).
Some people confuse it for BTB.
BTB means Bell Tree Bells, the currency we use.
IGB stands for In-game Bells, which are the bells you have in your Animal Crossing game.

Well it's called "TBT Marketplace" so I guess both terms are "official".
