Super hard to choose between 2 and 3, but for some reason my fondest Mario Party memories involve the western board from 2. So many 3rd grade slumber parties.
I'd say 8 if the controls didn't feel so unresponsive and if the video output looked nice and clean, 8 also doesn't support widescreen which really put me off... SO Mario Party 7 it is, microphone minigames, BIRDO and I like the cruiseship yay.
I voted for 2 because I like that the characters had cute costumes for each board they played. I also like Yoshi's Island and Peach's Birthday cake from Mario Party 1. I really think they made too many of them though. They are all kind of the same to me.
I think I've only ever played 1 and 8, but I'm not a very competitive person. Or a people person. So I really couldn't get hyped up about playing them with people.
I feel like I can't answer this one as the only mario party game I have played is DS, but I have spent sooooo many hours on it. My friends used to have super competitive battles over it and I loved how it was just like playing a board game, but even more interactive and fun! I can't imagine that the other games can be that different, maybe just a different story/minigames/boards? I honestly don't know! I would love to try out the other games to find out how entertaining they are! From what I've heard 7 and 8 are good so I may just try them out if I ever have time! ^_^ It is such an enjoyable little series, such a simple concept brought to life amazingly!
Mario party 7 (Thank youtubers I watched as a child for that, I didn't play it until later). Mario party DS is an extremely close second, I played that game for at least 200 hours.
As much as I like the new Mario party games, i have to say I am stuck to most classic Mario party games. And so far, mario party 3 is my favorite out of all of them. Them blisters though. XD But yeah, I find those mini-games the most fun to play.
Overall I think I'm going to have to choose 4, since it's the only one I actually owned. I loved a lot of the boards and minigames in 4, but there was also a time where I borrowed 5 from a friend at school for a very long time. That game was great too, I specifically remember that my favourite map was Sweet Dream.
I played 3 as well but not very much, that was something I only got to play at a friend's house or if he brought it over when he came to play. I think if I played it now I'd be overcome with nostalgia and adore it too.
Mario Party 4, it was the first 3D mario party and gave you a reason to keep playing, birthday item unlockables, plus the mini games were great and it's one of those games I have alot of childhood memories with.
