For those not in the know, Pikachu-family is a fan-term that references any electric rodent type Pokemon, even if they aren't directly related to Pikachu, they share a lot of design elements and often get lumped in together.
I've always really like Raichu! They really appeal to me for some reason. But lately, Dedenne have been super appealing to me! It's very hard to choose...
Q: What is your favorite of the Pikachu-family Pokemon?
A: Pichu is definitely my favorite Pikachu-family Pokemon. The Pokemon just looks so cute. :3 Plus... The only regions that I know in Pokemon are: Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn. Also... The Pichu's Power Plant mini-game in Pokemon Stadium 2 was fun to play.
So happy it got a sweet Alola form and finally got some recognition in gen 7. But I've always been a fan of Kantonian Raichu and it is, in fact, my second favorite pokemon ever. Pikachu, on the other hand, is hella overrated and is only that way because he's the series mascot
I voted for Raichu in the poll! Though I also could've given a vote to Alolan Raichu too since both forms are awesome. I generally like the design of Raichu and the fact that it's fully evolved instead of being a single-stage pokemon.
My favorite of the electric rodents would probably have to be Raichu, both standard and Alolan. It has always been disappointing to me that Raichu has constantly been in Pikachu's shadow and that they've long encouraged you to not evolve your Pikachu by giving it exclusive things like the Light Ball (to make it arguably superior in stats to Raichu), moves, designs (hats and cosplays), and other things like not being able to evolve your starter Pikachu in Yellow. Oh, and the Lt. Surge episode of the anime leaving a lasting impression on apparently numerous people. I find Raichu more interesting and it's nice that it got an Alolan Form to pull it into the forefront for at least a little bit.
If I had to get into specifics, I like Alolan Raichu better for its functionality but prefer the original's design.
That said, Emolga is a very close second. I came to really appreciate it in Black/White/Black 2/White 2 and it's definitely the one I'd favor to use over most of the others.
I personally like them all, but if I had to choose, it would be Pachirisu. When I first played Pearl version, I fell in love with it's design the minute it appeared in the grass for the first time.
I was torn between choosing Raichu and choosing Alolan Raichu, but, ultimately, I decided to pick Alolan Raichu simply because it's a lot cuter. If Game Freak ever decides to create a region alternative Pikachu, I wonder how it'll look.
