What makes Brawl not epic enough for the media?

I really don't get this. I'm reading all the articles for the past month saying how the Wii is going to fail 08 with a lack of big games. Especially for hardcore games. Who gave these bloggers the creditability of a reporter?

Any research done about SBB games in the past and the hype surrounding Brawl by Wii owners and Nintendo shows nothing but a game of epic proportions.

A lot of them are also saying something else weird. Last year was the year of casual games. Explain the success of Halo 3, COD4, Bioshock, Mass Effect, SMG, MP3, along with other games please. Wii Play and such sold well but not well enough to be compared to Halo 3.

I agree with you, I mean, the hype around Brawl is massive. I also think it will do great, and will most likely outsell all the Wii games to date.

I think SSBB sales will easily pass Halo 3 sales by the way.

I doubt that. Halo 3 sales were the best in history.
Best in one day you mean.

;)

If Super Smash Bros. Brawl does pass Halo 3 (it probably will due to Japan loving Smash and hating Halo) it definitely would not be done easily, though.

If you mean on the first day, I couldn't agree. Rumors say that there are shortages of games... >.>

Not likely. Nintendo's days of epic launches are over, I'm afraid.

I'll agree with you on one point -- I don't think Brawl will outsell Halo 3. But, you gotta admit, Galaxy's launch was pretty "epic". 500,000 on the first day in the US alone, was it?

The stupid Japanese over there aren't helping. They buy casual games like Big Brain Academy, and won't buy Galaxy even though it has been toned down in difficulty.

OK, if Brawl outsells Halo 3, I expect some "well gee Storm you were right!!"

Annnnnnd Brawl has something that Halo really didn't: Japan
