What new villager species would you like to see in future installments?

I've seen a lot of talk about people wanting a new villager species but unsure what sort of species people would want. For me personally, I'd like bats, owls, snakes, moths, lionesses... There are so many I'd get excited about.

The bat fan designs are so cute, I wish they existed. I can't think of many species that don't already exist, but I'm sure there's plenty haha. Maybe badgers?

oooh, bat, owl and moth villagers would be so cool! bats and owls are the main ones for me, but i’d also love to see some axolotl, iguana and fox villagers as well! : )

It would actually be nice if they had a few nocturnal species to act this way. Owls, bats, hedgehogs etc.

Or something unique, like a Tasmanian devil.

Or hey, maybe we could finally get a dinosaur villager, like a T-Rex or something. It's a villager from the ancient past! Bet he would have tons of fun visiting the museum. It would be like visiting a cemetery or something... which isn't so fun. Hm.

I'd love to see a red panda villager. Possibly as one of the colors of a raccoon type of villager, since they share some of the same basic traits, namely the ringed tail. Fox villagers would be fun, too. And platypuses! Platypus villagers would be so cool!

If I think of some of my favorite animals that aren't specifically represented as a villager species, I think of otter, moose, turkey, and groundhog. Those would be nice.

I really highly doubt this would ever happen and I kind of don’t want it to in a way, but all the same I’d love shark villagers.

Bats and some sort of Reptile expansion. Maybe Lizard? That way you could throw newts or geckos designs in there or even dinosaurs. I mean we already have Flick and Nat that exist. Let's seem some villagers that are lizards outside of the Alligator template too.

I'd like to see ferret and weasel villagers. Maybe even seal or sea lion villagers. As for reptilian villagers, I think turtles or lizard villagers can be included in future installments.

I don't see them doing anything like Owls or Racoons because of the NPCs we have - not many instances were the villagers are close to NPCs (like Blanca because she's a cat, or Isabelle because dog). So it's kind of hard to pick something that wouldn't be pretty much an NPC. So I guess I would like villagers like Niko - tiny babies

I don't think villagers that are the same species as NPCs are impossible as choices tho, like ya said, we've had dogs for years and yet there's Isabelle.
Plus the "raccoons" in the game are tanukis, they're only called raccoons in the translation. They could probably do actual raccoons if they changed the design to actually be distinguishable from the three in game.

bats! i've seen a bunch of ideas for bat villagers on tumblr and they are sooo so cute. i'd also be interested in snakes as they'd be something very different that the dev team would have to make work and i think they could nail it.

also axolotls because they are babies and we need more than just dr shrunk :<

I love sloths. And Leif is amazing, but I want to invite some silly sloths into town.
Or turtles. I have no idea why we don't have turtles. Or even, dare I say it... HUMANS.

Lionesses definitely. It makes no sense to have only the males of a species and not females. Butterflies or moths would be super cute. Imagine one based on a monarch, blue Morpho, or Luna moth. They probably would recoil in horror at seeing their distant relatives in plastic cages.
